"Located in a cozy contemporary setting, 40 North is the perfect spot to meet with friends. The food is exceptional and the staff is friendly and knowledgeable. During our girls brunch, we enjoyed a bottle of Crémant du Jura, a delicious champagne-like drink. I couldn't decide on an entree, so I opted for some starters including toad in a hole and pumpkin soup, both of which were tasty. After our meal, we stayed to enjoy the atmosphere and had drinks at the bar. The bartenders were helpful in explaining the cocktail options, and they even created custom drinks for us. My friend had a refreshing ginger lemonade, while another friend tried the Radio cocktail, a unique take on an espresso martini. I indulged in an Irish coffee, expertly made by the bartender. I highly recommend 40 North for its great food, ambiance, and service. Plus, it is connected to Alphabet City, a business with a bookshop and event space that offers entertainment like poetry readings and music."

"Out of towner review, to go review:Ordered some arepas through door dash the other day. Only rating on food quality. Overall, the food was pretty good. The arepa with avocado, chicken, and cheese was fantastic (Arepa Sifrina) That was very good and I’d imagine that with eggs is just as good if not better. The Arepa Vegan Chorizo, however, was not that good. More sloppyJoe like, very greasy and oily. I’m sure is better with pork but I don’t eat that. Finally, ended things off with the plantains, which were good but not the best I’ve had. I probably won’t go with getting the cheese on top the next time. Oh, and the spicy cilantro was good and not too spicy, while the garlic sauce had a powerful garlic kick. Enjoy!"

"Absolutely a GEM!!!! Came to Pittsburgh from out-of-state to celebrate a special birthday weekend and Cucina Vitale exceeded our expectations! OMG, over the top fantastic from start to finish!!! This authentic, romantic hot spot fills up extremely quicklyon the weekend so we made sure to have a reservation before heading to a concert at PPG arena. Although our arrival time intoPittsburgh was later than anticipated, resulting in the need to delay our reservation by an hour, the staff was beyondaccommodating. We anticipated needing to cancel, but the girls were so sweet to save our time slot. Lucky us because absolutelyeverything was DELICIOUS!!! Kudos to the chef and fabulous recipes! THANK YOU OWNERS. I couldn?t imagine celebrating thisspecial night anywhere else. Lynn and Amanda were incredibly kind and attentive! Seriously, those girls rock! Enjoyed the banteras well as the history. Although we were in somewhat of a hurry because of needing to get to the concert, they still wrapped upan amazing birthday dessert to-go as a sweet surprise. Absolutely can?t wait to come back and experience Cucina Vitale again. Iwill definitely ask to be seated upstairs with Lynn and Amanda! Tips: BYOB, cash only, reservations suggested (after 6:30 onthe weekend this place is bustling)."

"This restaurant has the best Italian food in the city. The food is so rich and can't be beat. The gnocchi dishes tend to be my favorites, though their menu changes regularly, which keeps things interesting. They have fun cocktails, too. The staff are attentive and polite, and the times that we've interacted with the owners/chef have been good experiences. Just be sure to make reservations if you want to eat before 7- this place is so good and the demand to eat here is real! Parking can be tricky as well, but don't let it dissuade you from going."

"Not only did this place smell so fresh walking past it in the middle of the night, their food was deliciously fresh. It was nearly beyond my expectations, and the bowl I got was so filling... and loaded with generous portions over the rice. I put it away halfway thru my meal and left to go help a friend move furniture and all I could think about was coming home to eat the restDietary restrictions: Super great option for those with Celiac."
