Another wonderful experience at Skogen! Although our reservation was dropped by Open Table, we were graciously accommodated in the outdoor seating area, which was very quiet and cozy the under the heat lamps. The food was amazing and service was excellent. View menu

We were warmly greeted at the front of the house, our server (owner’s sister) was friendly and helpful, and the meals were exceptional.We had the scallops and the short ribs and both were delicious. Great selection of wines too. The husband and wife team behind this restaurant really make it sing.

this came very recovered while I was in the opposite way and I am so glad that I found the time to come (and that they could bring me in! the staff was friendly and knowledgeable and eating was amazing. I was there to the breakfast, had the cami and a killer cappuchino, if I ever go back to the opposite, I'm going back to the way!

in the restaurant of custer week they offered a special three-course menu consisting of a starter, a escape and a dessert for $30. among the four of us, we tried all the options and all were excellent! it is really a tasty bite in our little town. During Custer's Restaurant Week, they had a fantastic three-course meal available for $30, featuring a starter, an entree, and dessert. Our group of four sampled all the options, and each dish was outstanding! It's such a delight to enjoy fine dining in our small town. (Just a note: while OpenTable lists Skogen Kitchen as being in Rapid City, it is actually located in Custer.)

My mom and I had a fantastic culinary experience with Skogen! Such a great approach to good, well executed food with wonderful flavor parings. The menu was varied and the specials were amazing. This is a rare gem of and to find it in Custer, SD was a a great surprise. Staff was attentive and very knowledgable of the menu, wine list, and everything else food related. Go, have a meal here, you will not regret it!

Overall our food was excellent, with the exception of the hashbrowns which were unfortunately REALLY greasy. The pancakes (the Robert) were absolutely delicious. Having said that I would be hard pressed to return for brunch, as the wait time for our food was an hour, which seems excessive for breakfast. The adjacent party related that they were there for 2 hours. The staff is very attentive and friendly in an obviously popular and busy place, however it would seem the kitchen is overwhelmed.
