"Love Soulshine! Came here for the first time and was impressed by the service and quality of food. We ordered the Barefoot Babies, Sushi Falafel sliders (the falafel were the buns! . I would definitely order the Barefoot Babies again, next time I go I'm going to try their pizza bowls. This place opens up all their windows which is nice to catch a cool breeze (no AC, it does get pretty hot in the summer but it does allow annoying foot traffic noise and fly's to come in (we have to shoo some away for most of our meal which was annoying . Also parking can be tricky here so it's best to come during the week or during off hours."

Traveled to California and looked for a vegan restaurant. Stumbled upon the Soulshine restaurant. Randomly ordered food and it was absolutely amazing. The fresh squeezed juice and the amazing vegan enchiladas Were exactly what I needed to eat for an amazing heathy dinner. Will come back when in town for sure.

Had the southern comfort and I really loved the mung bean frittata. The cashew crema was so good and tasted like it was dairy! The atmosphere is so cute and the staff was really nice. It had a great vibe to it and I really loved just sitting there. Beautiful decor and the food looked great. Wish I could try more.

Got my boyfriend and I lunch from here and it was amazing. My BF, who is not vegan, got the sausage and peppers sandwich and talked about how good it was for 10+ minutes after he finished it. He also didn’t leave me any to try…. I got the herbed biscuit sandwich and it was also amazing. Can’t wait to try out the rest of their dishes. Great first experience! View menu

This restaurant is absolutely charming! The food was incredibly tasty, and you definitely shouldn't miss out on dessert! The cinnamon roll, cookie, gummies, and scones were all exceptionally good—so good that they're addictive! It's also a great spot for getting some work done. The staff was really friendly, too. Plus, they offer home goods for sale! Make sure to check it out!

This place is absolutely fantastic! I visited San Diego for a long weekend and discovered it while searching for a vegan breakfast option. Their breakfast sandwiches are incredible, and the coffee is excellent! We tried the herb biscuit sandwich, the bagel sandwich, a lavender latte, and a mocha latte, and everything was delicious! It's definitely a must-visit if you're in the area!

Our waitress was incredibly friendly. However, the food took quite a long time to arrive—about 45 minutes—and it was just okay. It was a bit strange that a few tables that were seated after us received their meals before we did, especially since they ordered the same dishes. On the plus side, everything on the menu is gluten-free and vegan, which makes it easy for those with dietary restrictions to order. My only concern is that some vegan dishes can be heavy in soy and processed ingredients, and we definitely felt that in our stomachs after dining here. View menu

"I adore this restaurant. Golden Hill is filled with many many quality eateries, and Counterpoint anchors the neighborhood with it's fun atmosphere and dedication to quality. They recently renovated and the new space is open, airy and provides a variety of seating options: bar seating, restaurant seating, and upper balcony (I use this as a quiet place to WFH during the week), and an outdoor patio. I'm partial to the biscuit and gravy for breakfast, but the brined chicken and waffles or breakfast hash always makes me smile and sends me unto the world with a better outlook on life and a doggie bag. When it's hot, delicious crunchy salads are on the lunch menu and the craft beers and unique slushy flavors change. Counterpoint takes the quality of food and libations seriously. The craft cocktails rotate as the bartenders are encouraged to explore and grow. The owner and team are always warm, welcoming and make sure you have a good experience. Did I mention they are DOG friendly? Definitely worth the trip up the hill from downtown if you're looking to wind down after an event or precharge and eat before a baseball game. I love to bring my friends for a snack (try the olive selection) and chat on a twilight night. Space heaters outside if you get cold. Fans inside if you get warm. Honestly if you live in or are visiting the 92102 area code you should go to Counterpoint: good food, really good cocktails, and great company. It is clear that this establishment cares about quality, cares about your comfort and loves if you have a good time."
