"I hardly know where to begin... This is undoubtedly the best restaurant in Raleigh. The menu offers a mix of eclectic and adventurous dishes while also providing familiar flavors that make it easy to explore new options. The selections change weekly, but they usually retain some signature items, like their incredible bread and butter. It may sound simple, but believe me, it's absolutely worth every bite. I've dined here many times, and each visit surpasses the last, which is impressive considering it’s always been good. It’s the perfect spot to order a variety of shared plates and sample the entire menu. Their large plates are also fantastic. Just a heads up: they don’t take reservations, so be prepared to wait a bit. However, they do have a small patio where you can enjoy drinks and small plates while you wait to be seated."

Stanbury is the best restaurant in Raleigh. I love dining here with new friends, old friends, or just my spouse. The menu is adventurous and constantly changing. The no-reservations policy helps maintain an egalitarian approach. I can't say enough good things about this Raleigh gem.

We had a truly outstanding meal at a wonderfully cozy and eclectic restaurant. Everything we tasted was delicious, and I can't wait to return and explore more of the menu! I don't even have a specific dish to recommend; I believe you could randomly select something, and you'd still leave satisfied.

I really enjoyed this place, even though some of the food didn't exactly match my tastes. However, I was able to find a few dishes that I liked. The staff are very skilled, and the food itself is unique (in a good way) compared to any restaurant I've dined at before. I also loved the interior decor. View menu

Menu is well balanced and changes often, though I?d recommend doing lots of small plates and sharing. Our server Brandle was incredibly warm and personable. Worth waiting for a table! Can?t wait to come back! Dishes pictured are the charred octopus and grilled asparagus, favorite overall was the coppa!!

I don?t even know where to start.. this is hands down the best restaurant you will find in Raleigh. The menu is eclectic and adventurous, but ties in familiarity so you?re open to trying new things. The menu changes from week to week, usually leaving some staple menu items like their bread and butter.. sounds simple.. but trust me, it?s worth every bite. I have eaten here numerous times and each time it gets better, which is hard to even say because it is always View menu

I can confidently say that this is the best restaurant in the area. The appetizers were incredibly flavorful and unique. We tried the smashed cucumbers, burrata, and tuna crudo, all of which were fantastic. For dinner, we had the ribeye, lamb chop, and tagliatelle—each dish was cooked to perfection! To top off the evening, we indulged in three desserts: black cocoa cake, sweet corn custard, and peach ice cream. Our server, Kate, was excellent, and I can’t wait to bring my family and friends here!

During my first visit to Raleigh, North Carolina, I was on the hunt for an authentic restaurant that served a great steak. A fellow passenger on my flight from Miami recommended Stanbury, and it truly turned out to be a hidden gem. The rib-eye was cooked to perfection, and the atmosphere was lively, with classic rock 'n' roll music playing loudly and patrons enjoying themselves. I ended up chatting with Joseph, the owner, and we closed the restaurant down together. We moved to the bar and talked for hours while he shared his favorite after-dinner drinks. It was a memorable experience!

"Even though this restaurant is an hour away from our home, it 's been our special occasion go to restaurant for years. We 've brought our parents here and purchased gift cards for our friends. I love the selection of creative vegan entrees, relaxed art house atmosphere, and live music. We 've always received friendly service and enjoyed our food in the past. This evening, for the first time in my life (at any restaurant), I sent back an entree. I was nearly in tears because I feel so guilty about wasting food. The replacement dish I received was even worse--what was advertised as pad thai turned out to be mushy noodles drenched in what tasted like rice vinegar, hastily topped with carrots and green beans. My husband tasted it and his face said it all. His words were borderline inedible. We were disappointed with the food, but we understand that on a busy Saturday night, mishaps with food can occur. Between us we have 30 years ' experience working in restaurants and have been confronted with many situations like this ourselves. What happened next turned our disappointment to anger: a manager came to our table with check in hand, apologized coldly, and seemed to think that comping the two meals I couldn 't eat had been a magnanimous gesture. She did offer us dessert, which I guess was a nice thought but not a substitution for dinner. I 'm giving a second star because my husband said his short ribs were very good, as was the appetizer. All said, we 're out $70 and I still haven 't had dinner. Side note: we advise purchasing bottled options if you 're a beer drinker. My husband is a professional brewer by trade and every draft beer from here has been flat and displayed off flavors. He knows what these beers are supposed to taste like, and it seems to be an issue with the draft system. Also, our entrees appeared about 5 minutes after we ordered them, which doesn 't seem like enough time for making things to order. Since writing this, it 's come to our attention that these changes are likely due to new ownership of the restaurant. The lack of hospitality combined with the lower quality food is sure to alienate their most loyal patrons, including us."
