"Now, speaking of the food! My mom loves to evaluate new restaurants based on their spaghetti, and she was pleased with the sauce—well-balanced and not greasy at all. I agree! The noodles were cooked to perfection, just the right firmness (gotta love the momma bear touch). Dad thought his pastrami sandwich was decent, which is actually high praise coming from him. I really liked my half portion of lasagna; it was the perfect size. The bread was fresh and soft, toasted just right. The only downside was the noise level; it would be nice to have something to absorb some of the sound. Otherwise, we had a lovely evening out. We're enjoying discovering local gems like this one in El Cajon!"

"This place is THE BEST KEPT SECRET!! I ordered the zucchini appetizer and the gyros plate. All the food was so fresh and hot. The salad was crisp and had a light house dressing. The unique fries were unlike any french fries I've ever had. They were more like potatoe wedges and tasted like heaven. The pita bread was hot and tasty. The ambience was terrific and the service was stellar. I felt well taken care of and can not wait to go back to try other items. Best part the prices were low for the amount of food you got."

"Great before concert meal, but busy, so would suggest a reservation. The service was a little slow, but the staff was friendly and helpful. Food was great, everything tasted fresh and hand made. Standouts, margarita pizza, lobster mac cheese, gnocchi (pillowy and soft). Menu's a tad pricey for pasta and the area. Will definitely go back."

"Our father's day celebration on June 19, 2022, was filled with loving thoughts, joyful hours, and memorable moments. Raven served our delicious, nutritious lunch. She was friendly, professional, and sincere as she was attentive to our needs, cheerfulas she helped us, and knowledgeable regarding our orders. Garret, on the other hand, served our appetizers. His humorous stylemade us laugh with his jokes, resulting in a relaxing and enjoyable dining experience. Black Angus in El Cajon is a fine diningplace because, in addition to its adequate parking spaces, the workers observed punctuality, as manifested by the timely arrivalof our appetizers, main courses, salads, and beverages. The prime rib and lobsters were cooked to perfection as we felt thetenderness and succulence of the meat while we were biting on them. The salads were fresh, prepared with the right amount ofvegetables, and sprinkled with parmesan cheese. The server mixed the beverages with the right amount of sweetness andacidity. The table was clear of unnecessary plates, cups, silverware, and other dining necessities. Undisturbed by noisy peopledining nearby and partly surrounded by high-upholstered benches, the place was quiet and provided an unexpected but neededprivacy. Raven and Garret performed their duties not obsequiously but accommodatingly, as indicated by their warm smile andcheerful demeanor. The confluence of a warm and cozy room, delicious food, refreshing beverages, needed privacy, and reasonableand outstanding service made our father's day celebration satisfying and worth repeating."

"TAKEOUT ONLY, even if you want to eat there, you would have to buy at the counter, and eat out of to go containers. I ordered a beer (large Asahi , it was opened and I was handed a thin plastic water cup, omg. Generally, the food is fine, pretty good, and reasonably priced. A bit too much green onion on their rolls simple yellowtail roll and scallop roll really don 't need a bunch of green onion as topping (not that I dont like green onion, I just don 't think they are needed here . And a couple of my rolls are all fallen apart (not closed up, rolled up properly...."
