"This place has a great vibe in Belmont, NC, which is seeing an exciting growth in its food scene. It's a butcher shop, seafood market, wine store, and restaurant all in one. You can choose from the menu or pick fresh options from the butcher and seafood displays. We arrived around 7:30 on a Saturday and were lucky to find one open table. Our waiter, Adam, was attentive and very helpful. I ordered the cowpig burger with eggplant fries, while my date had the Reuben. Both dishes were surprisingly good, far exceeding my expectations! My wife, a Reuben connoisseur, gave it a solid thumbs up. I definitely recommend checking this place out—it's great for lunch or dinner!"

The eggplant fries are amazing! The flatbread with figs is simply delicious! I can't express how much I love this charming restaurant and market. The food was exceptional, and our server was friendly, professional, and efficient. It was a wonderful dining experience!

The waitress performed like a machine. She rushed the order, grabbed plates as the last bit hit your mouth, presented the check immediately and stood there waiting for payment. We had a bottle of wine that the group was still enjoying after we paid and she made several obvious passes to see if we were leaving. Not the String Bean that I have enjoyed in the past.

My wife and I had a reservation for Valentine’s Day and really enjoyed our entrees and appetizer. We decided to order two sides — the duck fat fries for $6 and Brussels sprouts for $5. I was expecting a larger portion of fries, and unfortunately, the Brussels sprouts were quite bland and soggy. Our server, Isaiah I believe, was excellent. We've dined at The String Bean several times, so I was hoping for more from the side dishes.
