"The food used to be excellent, with generous portions at reasonable prices. However, recently I've noticed that the portions have shrunk while the prices have gone up. For instance, I ordered a torta de milanesa de pollo without tomatoes, and I was served a very small sandwich with an incredibly thin slice of meat—seriously, the bread was thicker than the milanesa itself!"

The food, especially the gorditas and tacos, is absolutely delicious. The service is outstanding, deserving nothing less than a perfect score from customers.

The food is fairly good overall. Unfortunately, my guacamole had too many onions and didn't taste great. On a positive note, the tripas tacos were really delicious. View menu

I wish they accepted card payments since they only take cash. The food is fantastic, and the service is good. As for kid-friendliness, they have a kids' menu—it's small, but it’s decent.

The food is amazing! The grilled liver is a must-try, and the oversized quesadillas are delicious too. The service is consistently excellent. Just a heads-up, they only accept cash. Food rating: 5/5.

I felt like this place was a scam. I was charged $1 for a tiny pinch of avocado, and the tacos were tiny with hardly any meat in them. No one mentioned that they only accept cash until I was ready to pay, and I didn't see the sign until then. Now I know to never eat here again. View menu

The service here is terrible. The waitstaff are rude and stingy with the lemons and hot sauces. When you order delivery, they don't even include hot sauce unless you specifically ask for it. The food quality has declined as well; I barely got a third of a taco. It's definitely not what it used to be.

Additionally, on a previous visit, the waitress was quite rude and didn't check in with us at all. After several frustrating experiences like these, my family and I have decided that we will no longer be dining here. It's unfortunate, as we've enjoyed this place for many years, but the service has really soured our experience.

"Tempesta is arguably one of the best sandwich shops in the city. They make a lot of their meats in house and use high quality ingredients so you know you’re getting the good stuff. Not only can you get a great sandwich, you can purchase most of their meats to go as well as other small artisanal grocery items. I have tried almost every sandwich they have on the menu but my top two choices would be the #1 The Dante and the #2 Yo! Vincenzo! The Dante is their version of a classic Italian sandwich but a bit on the spicier side. The Yo Vincenzo is a chicken parm and I personally think it’s the best chicken parm sandwich in the city. The chicken is perfectly crispy, and they use just the right amount of sauce where it doesn’t get soggy. Both of these sandwiches come on their fresh baguette which helps set them apart from other sandwich spots in Chicago just because of how good it is. The B Franklin is also a great option, and if you’re starving get the Wagyu Pastrami but be warned it is a very heavy sandwich because of that Wagyu. The last pro tip I’ll add in here is order your sandwich ahead of time if you’re doing takeout. This is a very popular spot and is always busy during the lunch rush so if you wait to order until you arrive you may need to wait for 10-15 minutes. That should speak to how good this place is because it’s in such high demand, so if you’re in Chicago make sure you stop in!"
