"As a Chicago native, I don't want to nitpick, but I feel it's necessary to be honest. The food itself wasn't bad. The mild sauce reminded me of mistakenly thinking a stranger is someone you know from a distance—only to realize up close that it's not them, even though they look similar. It's more comparable to Chick-fil-A's Polynesian sauce. I also don't like feeling like I'm being overly charged for things, so the dollar fee for the mild sauce felt a bit petty. The person running the place seemed friendly enough, but in a somewhat pushy manner. He wasn't overtly rude or aggressive, but I could sense he wanted to wrap up the transaction quickly without entertaining any questions. I understand that customers can be frustrating. Overall, my experience was just okay. Am I eager to return? Not really. Would I eat there again? Hmm, I'll have to wait and see."

The Gangster fries with lamb meat are incredible! Honestly, they’re some of the best things I’ve ever tasted. They rank among the top three fries I’ve had in San Diego. Everything on the menu here is delicious!

Stopped by for lunch and it was great! I tried the Original Chicago Italian Beef Sandwich with fries. Both were excellent. I was surprised how tasty the sandwich and fries were. I recommend both and will return.

Native Chicagoans we’ve been missing Chicago food for a while specially the Italian beef and hot dog. We found this place and decided to try it out having very high hopes and it didn’t disappoint. Since moving away from Chicago, one thing I've really missed is the food. The moment I took my first bite of the Chicago hot dog, I knew I had found it again. The Italian beef was also outstanding. The restaurant's atmosphere and the flavors made me feel like I was right back home. The service was fantastic, and I’m definitely going to become a regular here! Thanks, JJ!

The best part about my visit was the excellent and friendly service. The restaurant was clean, and the food wasn’t overly salted. However, I wouldn't recommend it for a quick lunch during a workday unless you call ahead to give them some time to prepare your order. When we arrived on a Saturday around noon, the owner was working solo in a packed restaurant, and we got our food after about 40 minutes, which is understandable given that everything is fresh and made to order. It was definitely worth the wait, and I'll be back for more!
