I have been very ill and experienced food poisoning after dining at Tequila Grill. It wasn't just me; several of my friends who ate there also got sick. This is unacceptable, and I am seriously concerned about our health.

One of the worst Mexican restaurants I have ever been to. A burrito consisted of 2 pieces of meet with no beans. The margarita,, what can I say. Have you ever been to a restaurant that uses table salt for margarita salt? It was supposed to be for my birthday and it was very disappointing. Will never go there again. View menu

Nice atmosphere and loud ish music. Their chips and salsa are good. I had the Filete A La Plancha, which was A grilled tilapia filet served with rice, beans, flour tortillas and guacamole salad. I definitely do not recommend the fish at all. It is soft which I like but tasted and smelled not that great. The service was fast and the waiter was great. The beans, rice and guacamole tasted great. Just not the fish.

We were in Ottumwa for the dog show as official photographers and when we finished the show on Sunday wanted to try a locally owned restaurant. We're happy we found Tequila Grill. Neat location and fun ambience with excellent service and tasty authentic foods. I was surprised at the amount of carry out business that happened while we were eating. Definitely understand why people would want to get some food to enjoy at home. Would definitely go back again.

I visited on a Thursday around 6 PM and found the place bustling with activity, but I was seated right away. Before I could even take off my coat, I was already enjoying a margarita along with chips and salsa. The staff was not only quick but also incredibly friendly. I ordered the Burrito Ranchero, and the pork was tender and flavorful. The burrito was filled with all my favorite ingredients and topped with queso and verde. This was our first time to the new Tequila Grill it was a different Mexican place a few years ago. The waiter was good checked on us make sure we had enough chips, salsa, and water. The place is large, and clean. Two of us had the AC platter arroz con pollo. It was delicious. It was the perfect size for lunch with vegetables, chicken, and rice. Cheese sauce was poured over it. This review was for the Bloomfield Iowa location. Hubby had a cheesy steak taco platter, and friend had taco salad with extra tomatoes. Both said they were tasty.

I used to live in Ottumwa, and this restaurant was once a fantastic place to eat. We ordered the super nachos and decided to add everything available, but they turned out to be flavorless, with barely any chorizo or other meats. Even after adding hot sauce and salsa, the dish remained dull. I also had a side of refried beans, which were unseasoned and seemed straight out of a can. I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere for dinner. However, if you're just stopping by for a decent margarita, those are quite good. Overall, I was very disappointed and won’t be coming back.

Definitely worth the drive from Burlington! We have 5 Mexican restaurants down there but this one is worth the trip! The chips came out real hot and the salsa was great too. I always get the veggie fajitas when I go out so this is what stood out to me: The rice and beans were very wet but very flavorful, the tortillas were really good but I don't think they were made from scratch. I loved that they put guacamole and cilantro in the mix. None of the places in Burlington do that. The guac was really limey and delicious too. We didn't have to wait long at all for the food.
