"Friendly, casual family-style restaurant. Wife enjoyed the baked stuffed haddock which was pipping hot and flaky, but her mashed potatoes were dry/crusty and butternut squash were not great. I had steak tips, fries and asparagus. The fries were bland shoe string fries and the asparagus did not look appetizing at all and I did not touch. The steak tips were fine I got med/rare and were cooked correctly but for $25 I got like 3oz of steak (6 chunks). The party next to us got onion rings and some loaded tater tots appetizer which both looked better (I would opt for onion rings instead of fries). There is parking in the back lot in the back (use google maps satellite view to see it you cannot see it from street view). Our waitress was friendly. Root beer is from a glass bottle and was not mentioned when ordering. I wish staff would mention this when ordering I usually ask but forgot this time. We arrived at peak time place was busy but no wait and the service was pretty slow. Prices are a bit higher than I expected and what is online. Cost was $60 2 dinners with soft drinks and no appetizers/desert. Place was extremely warm (borderline uncomfortable) and cozy old pub atmosphere. Nothing fancy but it wasn't sketchy either."

Not quite what we expected. Came here after a family wake. This place is mostly a pub with food added. I had eggplant parmesan, which was good. I was very hungry. Others had the Mustang burger, Haddock parmesan, and loaded potato skins and a side salad. I'd rate the food good. We had an excellent wait person. She went above and beyond. We won't be back. This restaurant has a wonderful atmosphere and feels like a cozy neighborhood spot. The patrons are friendly, and the food is exceptional. We enjoyed the broiled swordfish and mashed butternut squash, and we also tried the calamari as an appetizer. I highly recommend this place to everyone. Just a tip: it’s wise to bring a small car, as parking can be a bit limited in the back. Keep in mind that it’s located in a residential area, not on a main street. Overall, a delightful dining experience for dinner!

During our vacation, we were searching for a dining spot between Boston and Providence. Being from Iowa, we decided to try the Colonial House Restaurant, and I'm so glad we did! Although it's somewhat tucked away from the main route, it was completely worth it! Our waitress was outstanding—she was incredibly friendly and attentive, making our experience even better. The food was delicious, and the atmosphere was lively and inviting. We can't express enough how much we enjoyed our visit. Thank you, Colonial House, for your warm hospitality! We will definitely return the next time we're on the East Coast!

"I've been to this restaurant several times. The food is always good and sometimes great. We went there last night and there was plenty of seating for outside so we asked to sit there cause we generally don't eat indoors these days. They had several of empty tables and went to seat us at the one high table they had which is ok if you are at a sports bar or they have no other seating but we weren't asked if we wanted to be at a high table with stools rather than a comfortable normal table. We asked to sit at a low table and of course they let us, but it would show a bit of caring to ask first. Small details but things you notice when you have worked on the industry for 10 years. Later when we ordered drinks we ordered 2 normal sodas and 2 diet. When the waitress brought them I double checked because I had a feeling that she would confuse them (sometimes you get this feeling and have to check) and she said that she actually separated them on the tray to make sure she got them right. The reason I checked is cause my wife is diabetic so she has to avoid sugary drinks and if she has any sugar she has to know so she can adjust her insulin intake to avoid serious medical issues. I also get diet so if she ever needs to take a sip from my drink it's not an issue. One of our friends drank her soda and right away she said this one is diet. She really dislikes diet sodas and can tell right away. So then my wife took her test strips she uses to test her blood sugar to test her soda (diabetics will tell you how they check) and sure enough it was normal so she traded. So overall a good place but I think the service could use work. A retired coworker goes there every other Wednesday and I started meeting him occasionally. Service is better for regulars. It's just that I wish the service was great for everyone. Not just the regulars. One final things to point out is that I've been going here for years and the quality of the food has deteriorated a bit . I would tell people to go here to get the best burger ever, and now it's a little better then just ok. And the wings are not good. I still go there every two weeks or so to see my coworker, just wish it were like the old Lewis's."
