"The lunch box probably makes the best sandwiches in the world, in my opinion. I live right around the corner and always pass. There's always a lot waiting for her business. They have picnic benches for those who want to wait outside or eat. It is a great place to pick up lunch and eat somewhere like Merrittersee. All the sandwiches I have are delicious and the meat is also fresh. They are also vegetarian friendly. I'm looking forward to tasting her Roasted Eggplant sandwich. I had them almost every week in the last three weeks. I had her Roasted Turkey Sandwich, Pastrami Sandwich, Ruben Sandwich, Chicken Salad Sandwich and their BBQ Brisket Sandwich. They roast their own meat every day. They also have hot plates such as turkey, potatoes and gravy, soups and salads that are also delicious. They have refrigerators for drinks and snacks such as chips and cookies to access. You can order online. Waiting for pickup is usually about 10 minutes if you order in person and 20 minutes when you pick up online or via the phone. I look forward to coming here for most weekdays, especially when I'm busy with work. I bring my two dogs here, Lily and Kevin and they love the owners Jeff and Ann. They pamper them with fresh deli meat such as beef and turkey. Jeff and Ann are amazing to speak and they remember their customers names even after the first time you order. They say hello to their customers immediately as soon as they go and they are extra friendly to dogs. I have to try her other restaurant Dinner House on the street open on Thursday Saturday, I believe in the evening. You know the menu of heart and you can trust that they are a great recommendation for you especially when you are the type, overwhelmed by menus. Sometimes I come in and ask her to surprise me what was recently my way. You have different toppings and tapenades that I recently discovered, which by the way is a total game changer! Jeff and Ann don't know how much they make my days easier and my days brighter every time I see them and order lunch. It is a small gesture, but they are definitely a hard-working company that knows how to do it well. Please support them and order a lot of what I promise you will not regret it and you will probably be a regular like me. Enjoy!"

This was my first time to order from lunch box, and it was fantastic. I ordered an American with double meat (Turkey and ham) on French bread, with salad, tomatoes, honey mustard and sweet pepper tapenade. The bread was perfectly roasted, the meat and the tapenade were delicious, and it was the best sandwich I had in a long time.

The best place for a hearty sandwich in Uptown Oakland. Great down-to-Earth staff and the finest ingredients are used for one worth-every-penny sandwich. This is the place to go if you want to be full. For me, one sandwich covers my lunch and dinner. Excellent! Photos of the Meatball sandwich. While there is a ton of sandwich options in Downtown Oakland, from national chains to state chains, Lunch Box is by far the best. With amazing classic sandwiches, wraps, salads and a selection of daily soups. They also make their own brisket, pastrami and roast their own turkey. My goto sandwiches are the Americans (ham and turkey), brisket and meatball, but if I try to eat healthier, I like the turkey avocado wrap on spinach. My favorite soups are chicken wild rice, baked potato bacon and tomato bisque. Also recommend checking the huge chips and candy selection before you go.
