The Magnolia Pancake Haus

I had one of the best dining experiences of my life at Magnolia. A friend suggested it knowing we would be in San Antonio, and I’m so glad they did. Our server was amazing—she went above and beyond, and was incredibly friendly and patient. The food was delicious and reasonably priced, well worth the wait! Be sure to include this restaurant in your travel plans!

I visited on a weekday for breakfast and found there was no wait at all. Everything we ordered was delicious and the portions were generous. The prices were also very reasonable. Our server was attentive and provided excellent service. There are plenty of parking spaces available for the restaurant. I’ve heard it can get quite busy on the weekends. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our meals and would highly recommend this place!

I arrived at the restaurant first thing on Friday morning, and there was no wait at all. The place has a cozy atmosphere, though it did have a strange smell that resembled natural gas, which was a bit concerning. Our waiter attended to us immediately and took our drink orders. I ordered the freshly squeezed orange juice, but it was a bit too bitter for my taste. For my meal, I chose the egg white frittata with a side of pancakes, and I loved it! The frittata was packed with delicious veggies, and the pancakes were really good too. I appreciated that the syrup was served warm. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my meal.

I really regret waiting eleven years to finally dine here! Weekends can lead to a long wait, so I decided to go on a weekday instead. We were seated immediately, and our food came out quickly. The server was delightful, and everything was fantastic. It's no surprise that this restaurant is so popular! I didn’t take any photos inside, but it has a nostalgic 90’s diner vibe. There are both booths and tables available, though it can feel a bit cramped, making it tough to navigate when it’s busy. I wouldn’t consider coming here on a weekend, but I would definitely return on a weekday morning. Those were probably the best pancakes I've ever had!

We ended up waiting behind a larger party that had been called back before us but was also stuck in the hallway. Tension rose when another couple arrived for the same table we were supposed to get, forcing us to negotiate who would be seated first, even though we had been there longer; they claimed they had been called back ahead of us. Once we were finally seated, we noticed some flies on the windowsill—definitely not a pleasant sight.
