"Eventually, we settled for drinks they did have and ordered burgers and a salad. We requested a side of mustard for the burgers, but when our meal arrived, everything was packed in to-go containers. He just handed us the bag without any explanation. When we asked about the to-go packaging, he casually said that was how the kitchen prepared them. To our dismay, when we couldn't find the mustard, he informed us they were out of that too. It’s hard to understand why the server or manager wouldn’t have asked one of the nearby establishments for mustard, or why they couldn't restock at least a couple of their five wine options after lunch service, even if they were just temporary shortages. I hope The Garden considers making some simple, cost-effective changes to enhance the experience for their patrons, especially since the food itself was mediocre. I certainly need to be convinced to try this place again."

When we entered the restaurant, there was an unpleasant odor of grease. The food didn't taste good, and we won't be coming back.

The staff was friendly and attentive. My burger was excellent, and my wife's salad was good, though somewhat unusual. The outdoor atmosphere was quite relaxing. It's a great spot for a quick meal after a long day!

I was unable to fully visit the restaurant as planned because, upon our arrival for the reservation, it was closed due to a power outage. Thankfully, it was just us, so we decided to leave and find another place to eat.

we chose the nugget because it is near the granada theater. we were quickly waited and enjoyed our eating. the happy hour specials go until 19 clock so good drinks were just $4. eating was very good and cheap for a hurdy eating before the performance. we will be happy to come back. View menu

Disappointing. The Summerland Nugget has decent food at a good price. The menu at this downtown location is very similar but many of the items simply aren't as well prepared and don't have the same taste. The cook in Summerland is a genius with steaks and burgers; the downtown team is bush league.

Not good. Terrible, indifferent service they don’t ever care enough to be rude. You arrive, they grab your credit card, and then your best bet is to pray for mercy. This place is set up to serve tourists who don’t know better and will never be back anyway. There are so many great places nearby, don’t waste your time and money at The Garden. Lousy service, bad selection.

I've been a regular at this place for years to catch sports. Today, I came in to watch the first round of the NFL draft. When I asked the bartender if he could switch one of the TVs to the draft, he told me that people preferred the NBA playoffs and that he hadn't been able to change the channels on the other TVs. He said he would try, but that was clearly untrue. He never made any attempt to change it. Instead, the other TVs were showing essentially infomercials. The service was absolutely terrible. The Santa Barbara Public Market is expanding and offers a diverse range of food and beverage options. I'm a big fan of places that feature multiple businesses under one roof. Having studied in Boston, I always looked forward to visiting the famous Faneuil Hall Marketplace, and while this isn't quite the same, it certainly captures some of that vibe. A major advantage is that you can enjoy food from any vendor in the market and bring it to The Garden. This spacious bar area is located near the entrance and offers a selection of beers and wines. With a few televisions available, it's a great spot to gather and enjoy your meal or drink. It's a laid-back place to grab a bite and a beer, although...

Darn it. I wanted to like this place so much. I did, for years. Heck, I gave them a five-star rating a mere two days prior. Can't say that I am much of a fan anymore. Changing my review to three stars due to the bartender's lack of service. We waited 10 minutes as he went on his phone and helped others after us. Not worth the time when there are so many other bars in Santa Barbara. We left without service. I hope that ownership takes note of their staff's level of service and implements measures to improve upon it. A busy bar is one thing; the staff member scrolling through his phone while there are patrons waiting is a whole other level of low. You're going to lose customers! I now understa...

"THE BEST EMPANADAS ! After our almost one week vacation in Cambria my wife and I decided to make a stopover in Santa Barbara on the way home. A good reason to have dinner and then breakfast at two of our fav spots. Soon after getting settled in our casita at The Eagle Inn we headed straight here to buy some delicious Empanadas.....the best Empanadas we have ever enjoyed ! No problem scoring a parking spot on their small private lot at around 6.30pm. A very pleasant cashier named Florencia helped us with our dinner order at the service counter. We both ordered COMBOS...2 Empanadas side of choice and 3 Empanadas side of choice. My wife chose 1 x Pollo Pulled free-range Mary's chicken, onions and bell peppers , 1 x Serrano Prosciutto ham, mozzarella, garlic, wild arugula and a side of Chimi Papas Chimichurri oven roasted potatoes, spices, topped with aioli sauce . I selected 1 x Carne Sunfed Ranch grass-fed ground beef, onions, bell peppers, green olives and free-range hard-boiled egg , 1 x Serrano, 1 x Hongas Crimini mushrooms, organic spinach, caramelized red onions, mozzarella and a side of Chimi Papas. On any other day in warmer weather we probably would have dined here but it was getting late and the weather was pretty lousy. PRETTY QUICK ! There were a couple of walk-in pickups while we waited but apart from that it was pretty quiet. Florencia neatly packed our dinner order into take-out boxes and placed them on the counter. We paid and headed back to home base....The Eagle Inn. By 7pm we had it all ready to eat on the little table in our courtyard. Of course I brought my own beer to enjoy with dinner. WHAT CAN I SAY ! When you buy the best Empanadas you can't go wrong. I personally loved the Carne the best and the Serrano is always a winner but trust me they are all great. The delicious Chimi Papas with the provided side sauces tasted fabulous. VERY HARD TO BEAT !"
