The Original Turkey

Nice moist and tender turkey, buttery smooth mash potatoes, yummy corn, and tart yet sweet cranberry sauce. Their portion size is also super generous; enough for 2 to share. What's not to like?

I got the stuffin cranberry sandwich and it contained the juiciest, best tasting turkey to ever grace my taste buds. Everything on the sandwich was fresh and piled high. I couldn't recommend this place enough.

I always get this original turkey sandwich when I am in Philly. Today, however, the turkey was still wonderful but what used to be soft bread was now hard and coarse. The sandwich went from a 5 star to a 3 star in my view. Please return to the old soft bread. View menu

I visited on July 2nd with high hopes for excellent food and customer service, but I was met with a completely different experience. I was treated poorly and disrespected by Aaron Fournier, who claims to be the general manager. His attitude reflected a troubling level of prejudice and disregard for me as a customer. I ended up leaving and have no intention of returning. Food rating: 1/5.

This is my favorite spot because I absolutely love turkey and Thanksgiving-themed dishes. They consistently deliver excellent food every time I visit. My personal favorite are the wraps—definitely grab two for lunch or dinner. However, I took off one star because the service can be a bit indifferent, which seems to be typical in Philly. Coming from LA, where every restaurant greets you with a smile, it's a bit of an adjustment.

Their food was fine, but I think I may have had too high of expectations. The turkey just needs some sort of seasoning. This was a lot like a plate you might get at Boston Market. Adequate, but could be better. The key may be to get one of the sandwiches from here instead. It looked like those had more flavor to them.The service was fairly quick since they basically just had to scoop stuff onto a plate. I visited Reading Terminal for lunch and took some time to explore the area. That's when I spotted them carving a toasted turkey, and I couldn't resist giving it a try. I'm so glad I did! The slices were thick and served warm. I enjoyed it on a hoagie with mayo and red onions, and the best part was getting a side of gravy to dip my sandwich in. My boyfriend opted for a pulled pork sandwich from a nearby popular spot, and he actually said my sandwich was better! Haha. I highly recommend trying this place out; it was truly delicious.

I witnessed a wonderful act of kindness at the Reading Terminal Market store on Tuesday, March 6th. I was struck by the kindness and patience displayed by your three employees who were working at that time. They took the time to listen to a young man who clearly had developmental issues and was hungry. They offered him food to eat, which was such a thoughtful gesture. The way they interacted with him was truly touching, as they showed genuine care and concern for his needs. They went above and beyond to make sure that he was comfortable and had what he needed. I felt inspired and I hop this inspires others to follow in your team's footsteps.

I am a very regular customer at The Original Turkey. All through COVID, the young man that used to work at the counter was great. Cutting the turkey slices even and filled the hoagie up with all the trimmings. Friendly and welcoming.This all changed, now three persons at the counter. I was treated poorly, when I asked if there were still hoagies available the woman answered me rudely, something about a roll when I order.So I ordered and was whisked by the employee, go and pay.I did not get to see what was on the roll bc I was told to move.Cashier looking stern.When I came home I opened the package and saw how it was prepared.
