"This is a rough one. A family restaurant that I heard was a great place. I'm sure that it is(on most nights). Last night wasn't a good night at all. My girlfriend ordered the beef liver w/ onions. They pounded it out to thin, cooked it to long, and produced something close to shoe leather. She never leaves beef liver on the plate, she loves it that much. However, she had three bites and refused to eat anymore. I ordered the Cobb salad w/ chicken and avocado. The avocado slices were literally hard as rocks. The chicken was extremely dry. Not a good salad. Now on to the service. Our waitress was young. I'm going on a limb to say she's very inexperienced. When she asked us if everything was alright, and we told her that it wasn't, she seemed to not really care. Didn't offer to make it right. Just bad service. Now I'm sure the place was just having an off night so I'm willing to give them another try. Needs to be much better all around if it's going to be a place that I frequent. The only good thing about dinner were the fresh made dinner rolls."

Good quality food. Very stingy on the chip beef gravy, some fruit was way past its bedtime. Hash was great! I'd go back for another try.

Absolutely one of the best places for a diverse menu of southern traditions. All the food was exceptional. The desserts are phenomenal. As suspected when we asked are all made home made in the store. Highly recommend this place.

I came here for the chicken fried steaks....the best I had for a long time!!! I love this country, the vibe....it can be my favorite peaceful place to chow down on land meal. Great food and good service!! A hidden jewel for food.

This is definitely one of the best places to enjoy a diverse menu of Southern cuisine. The food was exceptional, and the desserts were absolutely fantastic. It was a pleasant surprise to learn that all of them can be taken home from the store. Highly recommended! View menu

Very much a maw and pop restaurant. Southern Land Food. Remember when I was a kid who went to my grandparent house on Sunday and the smell of Country Food Koch. You definitely get the money. We went twice a weekend because it was so good! I would/will visit again! Thank you for being such a family-oriented restaurant!

UPDATE: Customer service has deteriorated. Ordered ham and cheese sandwich and after 20 minutes I got a sandwich with cheese missing. Even with cheese, the sandwich is ridiculously expensive. The waitress had an attitude with us. Beautiful and cozy atmosphere despite the Kovid regulations in the square. Service was really nice and the food was great.

This is by far the BEST resturant that I have visisted since prior COVID. The customer service is a 10 , Service 10 food selection food quailty 10 atmosphere 10 I got the fried Oysters with hush puppies and a cup of ham bean soup. The oysters were fresh battered NOT FROZEN!! And large with a light fluffy batter so you tasted the fresh oyster and not a bunch of fried flour. The soup was just perfect! The Hush Puppies were hot fresh and delicous. I strongly recommend this amazing restuarant! I am already planning my next visit to the area so I can go back to The Pickle Barrel and try some of the many choices of items they offer. View menu

Wow. I'm amazed by this incredible restaurant. The atmosphere is really cozy. Unless you don't like a taxidermy. I got the fried chicken. It was made by scratches and really juicy inside. You know, it's great when you come on a Wednesday night and the parking lot had about 30 cars. I was on my way and I wanted to stop at the gas station to catch something fast. I saw the restaurant was crowded. I was curious. I'm glad. Food was cooked at home and they were really fast. I waited for an order for 10 minutes. If I lived here, I would come to this inexpensive restaurant/bar. There are many seats and parking spaces. is worth coming here.

My husband and I stayed here for breakfast on the way to Luray Caverns on a Wednesday morning and we loved it! The staff is very friendly and welcoming. Breakfast is a traditional South menu! My husband? The Whole Barrell? for $10.50 and it came with 2 pancakes, 2 eggs, your choice of sausage/Bacon/Maple ham, your choice of potatoes shredded / dish / rounds, traditional casting and your choice of biscuit / English muffin / toast. I have the egg/cheese/bacon biscuit with corn-Rindhasch! The biscuit was $3,75 and a side of corn beef hash to which I believe was between $2-$3. This little diner is perhaps a mile from the Interstate behind the Exon gas station. We would highly recommend stopping...

"I don’t like leaving negative reviews, but I have to say I was very disappointed in my dining experience at Adarra. It’s difficult to get a reservation there, so once I was able to, I had extremely high expectations. The drinks were excellent, so no complaints there. The food, however, was not. We ordered the toasted almonds, peppers, cheese plate, tuna belly, anchovy dish, tomato salad, and gnocchi. The almonds and peppers were good, although I have to say they were on the simpler side. The tuna belly made me think I was eating quality tuna from a can soaked in olive oil. That’s the best way I can describe it. It was a bit tough and on the dry side, and I didn’t finish it. I don’t usually eat anchovies since I’m not a fan of the typical fishy taste, but was assured that their version wasn’t fishy at all the way they prepare it. I ate a piece or two but couldn’t finish it. Soaking the anchovies in olive oil did not hide the fishy taste. Some people may like that fishy taste, but I definitely didn’t. The cheese plate was okay. The crackers weren’t anything special, and the amount of cheese was pretty minuscule. The tomato salad was actually the only thing I ordered that was delicious, and the only thing we actually finished. After being at the restaurant for almost two hours, the gnocchi had still not come out. We told our waitress we didn’t want it and decided to leave. I heard so many great things about Adarra and had such high hopes. But after such a disappointing meal that we paid over $200 for, we will not be returning."
