"Loved this place we will be back. Sat on the back patio, weather was perfect. Henry our server took great care of us recommended the Scottish Eggs. So we had the Scottish eggs thinking light bite ... then after finishing those needed to order a second plate of them! Snakebite with Magners Cider went really well with. Overall really refreshing drink. I got the Irish Mule too and it was great!Parking: Plenty of parking around here too for Sunday brunch time."

As for parking, there's a nearby garage that offers 2-hour free parking if you have your ticket validated at the restaurant. Just ask your server to take care of that for you.

This place is a thousand times better than Yolk. Don't waste your time standing in line; just head over to Playwright Irish Pub across the street and enjoy some Smithwick's Red Ale instead. Food: 5/5

Within walking distance of the Winspear Opera House, Happy Hour specials, varied menu selections, and fast, friendly service…we will return next time we have an event to attend down that way. Try the Irish Mule when you go! View menu

What a fantastic Irish pub! We were headed to watch an opera and had very little time to grab a quick bite. The service was lightning fast, and the food was absolutely delicious. The staff was full of smiles, even during the busy rush! We will definitely be returning! Food: 5/5

Traditional Irish Pub with a welcoming vibe. I was there on a Wednesday night, so weekends could be entirely different. They were playing Christmas music and there was a cheerful buzz about the place. It just felt cozy.Half off Wiskey in Wednesday! Although I opted for a Half n Half.Good food options and a kitchen that is open late made it a good place to visit with friends after a show.

I’m in town for business from Idaho, and this restaurant is just a few blocks from my hotel. I saw some pictures on Google and thought it looked like my kind of place! The bartender (I’m terrible with names) was really friendly, and we ended up chatting about music, Dallas, bass guitars, and 90s tunes. I ordered the wings, and they were fantastic. I highly recommend checking this place out! View menu

While we were waiting for our table at Yolk for brunch, we decided to pop into Playwright for a drink. What a fantastic Irish pub! The ambiance truly felt like an authentic Irish establishment. The food menu was appealing, and they had a great selection of Irish whiskey, Scotch, and beers. Given the time of day and our limited schedule, we opted for a pint of Guinness, but I can't wait to return and explore more of their offerings.

Great brunch. We enjoyed every aspect of our experience, from the food to the vibe. I highly recommend it! We happened across this place by accident as we were looking for a good breakfast. We saw their sign saying they served a brunch and decided to give it a try. We tried the Belgium Waffles and the Breakfast Tacos, a little sweet and savory. Both were excellent and we enjoyed every bit. I’ll definitely return the next time I’m in town.
