Perfect spot for a sunny afternoon. Front patio and open-air concept creates the perfect outdoor feel and provides great people-watching. The drinks and staff are great too!

Was taking an afternoon stroll and stumbled upon this place. Really nice open space but still intimate and romantic. Love the atmosphere and the drink was very refreshing and tasty.Very cool vibe, will def. come back.

I didn't eat here but I came here to drink with a friend. Make sure to make a reservation. It gets packed late into the night. The drinks were great. The open windows were great. Perfect for a warm summer night. Prices aren't too bad. It can be a bit hard to flag staff down but understandable due to the crowd. Neat spot, I'll return and try the food next time. View menu

I absolutely adore this restaurant! The atmosphere is amazing and the cocktails are fantastic. On a rainy day, we found ourselves sheltering here, which created the perfect setting. Our incredibly skilled waitress even entertained us with a few songs on the piano. Although our food took a bit longer than expected (we waited over 40 minutes for a salad and a sandwich), the staff was very accommodating and genuinely apologetic. I would definitely return and enjoy a walk to one of the nearby parks after sipping a cocktail.

Great drinks, service leaves a little to be desired. On a busy night, there seemed to be miscommunication about where we could be seated. We were originally seated on benches outdoors; shortly after sitting with our drinks we were brusquely told that we couldn’t sit there. This would be alright, but they weren’t able to offer an alternative seating, so we were left adrift with our 15 dollar cocktails. On a Friday night me and my friends saw a spot outside that people were seated at, and we were told by a doorman that we could sit outside. While we were deciding on drinks a server checked in on us basically making sure we knew there wasn’t a server coming, and that we should order inside at the bar. My boyfriend and my other friend went in to get our drinks, and after my friend came out with her drink I went in to check on my boyfriend. As soon as I was waking out with some drinks a server asked me if I had “closed out at the bar”, insinuating that I had not paid for my drinks. Service here was weird and workers had bad communication. My group had been here before and wanted to come back, and on a warm night we saw the mostly full outdoor seating and thought it would be a nice place to grab a quiet nightcap. We checked with the doorman about a table and were told to go ahead. Another man approached as we looked at the menu and told us to order inside at the bar. We did, and after my friend brought our drinks outside we were suddenly approached by two servers who told us we had to leave our table and find a spot in the overly packed indoor area. The Wayland is the best bar in New York City. Yeah okay Johnny you talk in hyperbole all the time... A fair criticism indeed. Normally I 'd agree, but I feel as strongly about this as I do that Blood Sugar Sex Magik is RHCP 's best album.
