"I placed a takeout order and was enjoying my lunch at work when I discovered a fly in my sandwich after I had eaten more than half of it. They did make me a replacement sandwich, but I felt that some additional compensation would have been appreciated. After almost consuming a fly, I wasn't really hungry anymore and didn't feel inclined to return to the restaurant. The only option they provided was another sandwich—no money back, no dessert, and no drink. Having worked in the food industry as a manager, I know that it’s common to offer a bit more to customers when mistakes happen. Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case at this establishment. I recommend checking your sandwiches before digging in!"

Beautiful place, definitely recommend sitting outside and enjoying the view of the road and the forest, with the wind sweeping across your face...had the chicken tortellini, vanilla crème soda (best), Chocolate meringue, BLT sandwich...

My husband and I went here for lunch today and the food was FANTASTIC. This is going to become a popular spot for us. I got the chicken salad sandwich and a tomato basil soup and he got the crab salad sandwich with a side of pasta salad. We also got a slice of buttermilk pie for dessert. YUM YUM YUM! Highly recommend this place!

This is a wonderful spot for lunch! My absolute favorite is their quiche, while the rest of our group enjoyed different sandwiches, all of which they praised. I also really enjoyed the tomato soup! As for parking, we had to leave our car across the street, about a block from the restaurant. There isn’t a crosswalk nearby, so we had to sprint across the busy road to queue up for our orders. Quite possibly one of the best places for a bite to eat in Ruidoso. Fast and kind service, delicious sandwiches, delectable soup and not to mention the revelation that is the Green Chile Apple Pie! I joined my sister for a quick lunch after work and will definitely be back to enjoy the gorgeous patio vibes and utterly amazing food. Thank you so much Village Buttery for an experience I will not soon forget!?

The food is good and I love the patio. I think they should make some improvements on their payment process though. When you order at the counter, they tell you you’ll pay after. I’d assume that would mean I would pay at the table and a waitress would take my payment. But instead, you have to go back inside, which is usually crowded, and pay at the register inside. It’s just not efficient and confusing. They should either take your payment once you order or have the waitress take your payment from your table.
