"Found this place while exploring the neighborhood with my family and was in the mood for some good Jamaican food. Upon entering the restaurant we were greeted by our waitress and were told to sit anywhere. We asked if they had a high chair for my daughter however they didn't which was a little bummer. We were going to leave and try somewhere else but I wanted to try their food. As we sat I noticed the simple decor on the walls. The chairs that were used were cheap outdoor foldable chairs that you would get from Walmart. I didn't mind because most Jamaican restaurants don't usually focus on decor and mostly on the food.Waited about 15mins before the waitress could take our order. I ordered a homemade sorrel, oxtail with rice peas, j chicken with rice peas, and an order of macaroni and cheese. Got the sorrel drink in less than 5 minutes and it tasted delicious, however, the food took almost 30min to come out. Once again I didn't mind as I knew it had to be fresh! When the food finally arrived the waitress apologized for the long wait which was nice of her. The oxtail was soft and tender and fell off the bone. It was flavorful and the portion size was decent for $30. The j chicken had a good amount of spice and might be the best j chicken I've had thus far. I did notice we didn't get any plantains with our entrees as I seen in other yelp reviews. The macaroni and cheese was the worse I've had. For $10 The cheese was not melted and although it had a nice crisp at the top it was very hard to chew. Tasted like hard chips! Overall the establishment was great and the food was delicious. If I am ever in the neighborhood I would get the food again!"

The food is tastefully seasoned, professionally presented and reasonably priced. This is my favorite restaurant and being served by Celine makes me feel welcomed and right at home. View menu

Nice people friendly service and amazing food. I moved away 13+ years ago and one bite of oxtail and I was transported right back. The prices have gone up but the quality has too. Highly highly recommended.

What a fun night! Closer to home than I even realized. Sad I couldn't spend it with Anders and Chloe, but Katy and Erika were there to host the best of Halloween times. Most epic Rocky Horror showing I've been to in years!

Such a cool bar (loved the Doctor Who/steampunk decor), and everyone was so friendly! The bartender chatted with us about Comic-Con, and then someone made sure to find us enough chairs so we could all watch the movie that was playing.

One of my favorite venues for live music is The Way Station. Anders really knows how to create a great atmosphere. If you're in Brooklyn and searching for a place with fantastic live performances and an impressive beer selection, this is the spot for you!

"When we called to reserve a table, no one informed us that there was a dining time limit of 1.5 hours. My friend wanted to invite more people to join us for dinner, but I was unsure if everyone would agree to the minimum charge of $60, including taxes and tips. I confirmed a reservation for 7 people during my second call, but ultimately, only 6 of us showed up. The table we were given was quite small, making it uncomfortable for six people, especially with the mandatory minimum spending of $60, as well as a 20% tip. For just two people, the minimum tip is 18%. I was confused about the dining time limit—was it two hours or 1.5? The party area was limited to just the backyard for additional seating. I was with friends who didn’t know the group well, and we arrived early at 3 PM, but we couldn’t wait until 6:30 PM. That’s why we ended up sitting at a separate table for two. Unfortunately, the restaurant didn’t seem to care and couldn’t arrange for us to be seated closer together. We had no choice in the matter. To make matters worse, the female waiter had a poor attitude. It felt like we were dining in a sidewalk market. She questioned another girl who served me ponzu sauce, apparently because I looked impatient when I saw her face. Her attitude only worsened after that. It seems like they need to train their employees better, as they seem unaware of how to provide good service. As for the food, it was just okay, typical of basic Japanese cuisine. There were too many restrictions! Customers are forced to adhere to the restaurant’s rules and limitations. I cannot recommend this place unless someone is specifically looking for a fast-food experience. In short, I don’t think I’ll be returning next time."
