"I wanted to grab some food after work and was in the mood for something new. I had passed by Toppings Too before when going to the old coffee shop. The interior is very small maybe sitting 6 or 7 different parties. I ordered the Adobo Chicken with Java Rice for takeout. The food was prepared in less than 20 minutes. The male cashier was very polite and quickly took care of me as I entered the restaurant. The food was very hot and delicious! He warned me to be careful not to spill the sauce. They accommodated my to go order by separating the chicken from the rice with some foil. I was very impressed with the flavor and scarfed most of the dish down quickly after receiving it. The price wasn't bad for the portion and quality of food! I will definitely come back to try some different dishes."

Came here two weekends ago during the lunch hour and ordered the grilled pork chop.

This is one of those hole-in-the-wall restaurants that, when you dine here, makes you feel like you're having dinner at nanay's.

I should have taken a picture BEFORE eating; but, I couldn't help myself. The Fried Siomai is tasty. The Pork Adobo is the best I've ever had. The Java Rice is delicious by itself and I ordered a 2nd order to take home. I will definitely return to try other dishes.

Great Filipino food, from crispy para to lieutenant and more in between. The fried chicken tasted like Max's and the sinigang na hipon tasted like a homemade meal. The place is small (4 tables with dividends) and they do not take reservations so that you wait during peak hours, but it is worth waiting.

It's open again after 4 months of being closed due to a fire. This is Union City's hidden gem. A hole in the walll. Limited seating but huge menu. I tried their Sinigang na Bangus, Vegetable Lumpia, Fish Balls, and Beef Tapa. The place looks cleaner and organized. It's not good for big groups. Only 8 tables with no patio seating. View menu

The food is great, cooked on demand. But that’s both a good thing and bad thing. Because it’s made as you order, it can be a while so be prepared to wait a long time. Once you have it served to you, wow.. it’s the great. Highly recommend their java rice plates and their crispy pata. Their munggo also is one of the best I’ve tasted. Finally, the restroom is outside and ‘round the back of the restaurant so just an fyi.

My family and I come here once a while to go here since they serve more unique Filipino dishes since most of Filipino restaurants don’t serve Java Rice for example. This is a very small restaurant and I thought today is going to be full, but surprisingly, it isn’t. People usually go through takeout orders. I remember that they write down food items at the chalkboard, but it’s empty for now. I never bothered researching what Java Rice is, but it’s supposed to be Filipino fried rice fused with turmeric as its main flavor. The BBQ Chicken is really good especially when it comes with its own gravy. I never bothered trying other menu items besides what I have today, but definitely will try others...

"TL;DR Food is nothing but average: too much garlic and overcooked. Service is average and nothing better. I got to get this out of the way first, out server was SO ANNOYING. Every single time he came up to our table, he would ask us if we were celebrating something. Every time we'd say no. Every time he kept asking. It clearly shows inattentiveness. We ordered a bunch of dishes. We ordered oysters Rockefeller, escargot and frog legs for starters. The oysters were very good, but the escargot and frog legs had WAY too much garlic. I'm typing this hours later and still have the taste of garlic in my mouth from these two freaking dishes. You literally couldn't taste anything but garlic. Many of us subbed the house salad for our entree for the onion soup. The onion soup is very good here as many have pointed out. I can confirm that it is very good. I got the salmon, and the rest of the people in my party got the rack of lamb, halibut and chicken cordon Bleu. The salmon was okay. The cranberry topping you could barely taste. As a result the salmon was quite bland and it was also slightly overcooked. The mashed potatoes were decent: they were silky smooth. The rack of lab was clearly way over cooked from the photos. It was definitely medium well instead of medium rare. The portion size was good, but it definitely wasn't salted enough and tasted a little gamey, when I tried it. I was told the halibut was good, but the chicken cordon Bleu wasn't worth finishing. We threw all our leftovers away as we didn't think anything was worthwhile saving."

In addition to pho, the menu offers a range of traditional Vietnamese dishes such as spring rolls and banh mi sandwiches, all bursting with flavors and textures. The vermicelli bowls are another standout, with grilled meats and a tangy dressing. Vegetarians will also find tasty options. The service at Pho 99 is exceptional, with friendly and knowledgeable staff always ready to assist. Despite being busy, the service is prompt and professional. The ambiance is casual yet chic, perfect for any occasion. The background music is pleasant and the restaurant is spotlessly clean.
