"What a sad frontera at the terminal 5. The dining section looks like a food court and they’re trying to charge people to dine in. I ordered frontera to go but accidentally sat in the ‘dining’ section given it looks like open tables and not table service. The waitress came over and screamed at me and the guy next to me eating Burger King. Barely let us even pack up our food. She was so nasty I’m disappointed in frontera and won’t be visiting again. I would have happily paid the $3 tip to sit down had she given me a chance to even answer her but instead, she screamed at me while onlookers all felt extremely uncomfortable"

Food is good and decently priced for an airport. They were under staffed when i was there at 630pm on a weekday. The drinks were airport expensive, so...

The food was pricey but absolutely delicious! It's some of the best airport cuisine I’ve ever had. I ordered a Cuban sandwich to go for $14, and with a bottle of water, my total came to $20.

I really wanted to enjoy my experience, but it just wasn't good. The food was carelessly prepared and everything felt very rushed. The staff behind the counter appeared to be unhappy in their roles, which added to the overall lackluster atmosphere.

This was my first visit to this restaurant. Service was friendly, the food took a bit long to prepare but it was fresh, hot, and very good. If you have the time to wait and enjoy, I highly recommend. Total time from order via kiosk to food delivery was about 15 minutes, and worth it. View menu

I had the Cubana torta, and it was pretty good! Definitely one of the better options in the International terminal. However, service wasn't great, it took a while to place order and receive food.Kid-friendliness: They had 2 kids meal options that were good for less adventurous pallettes.

The food was excellent, but the service could use some improvement. I believe this was largely due to staffing shortages. The bartender was incredibly friendly and accommodating, but it was clear that managing both the bar and the dining area was a bit overwhelming for them. It felt like too much work for one person.

This place is ok. The torta was edible. I waited almost twenty minutes to have my order taken. They were very short staffed and did not have anything but a couple sandwiches left to sell. Unfortunately you don’t have many other options. I needed to get a bite to eat before my flight, and this was the only place that was still open in the entire terminal. View menu

Food is ok, but it was really confusing to communicate with the staff. Ideally train them to use similar terminology as your menu to refer to your food items. Additionally, was told I can’t sit at the bar without waiting 15-20 min but there was a seat open I was declined and then someone walked right past the seating host and took it anyway. then went to wait in line and order to go. More bar Seats opens. Asked to sit, eat my food and order drinks, nope, can’t do that.

I loved the Cubano tortas! I do not generally like mustard but the sauce was much more Chipotle and smokey than mustard. Food was quick, waitress was a real person not an annoyed order taker. The only thing I didn't like was the metal chair, maybe the floor was wet, but every time I leaned back the chair would push away from the table sliding and inch or so on the floor. Drove me crazy! Need some rubber soles on them or something. Oh also the chips were soooo whatever. Not bad but Like store bought, not fresh made.

"Tempesta is arguably one of the best sandwich shops in the city. They make a lot of their meats in house and use high quality ingredients so you know you’re getting the good stuff. Not only can you get a great sandwich, you can purchase most of their meats to go as well as other small artisanal grocery items. I have tried almost every sandwich they have on the menu but my top two choices would be the #1 The Dante and the #2 Yo! Vincenzo! The Dante is their version of a classic Italian sandwich but a bit on the spicier side. The Yo Vincenzo is a chicken parm and I personally think it’s the best chicken parm sandwich in the city. The chicken is perfectly crispy, and they use just the right amount of sauce where it doesn’t get soggy. Both of these sandwiches come on their fresh baguette which helps set them apart from other sandwich spots in Chicago just because of how good it is. The B Franklin is also a great option, and if you’re starving get the Wagyu Pastrami but be warned it is a very heavy sandwich because of that Wagyu. The last pro tip I’ll add in here is order your sandwich ahead of time if you’re doing takeout. This is a very popular spot and is always busy during the lunch rush so if you wait to order until you arrive you may need to wait for 10-15 minutes. That should speak to how good this place is because it’s in such high demand, so if you’re in Chicago make sure you stop in!"
