"The food is always very good! My favorites are salads and sandwiches on homemade bread! But the price they charge me is always different! I order a regular salad for $5 and then next time I go in and order half of this salad because I couldn't finish it last time and they charge me $5.60 and I don't do as much food as I usually do when I order a salad."

"The restaurant is dirty and the food is terrible. I had a hamburger and the meat was raw. The manager, I told him about the food that was boiled and gone from me. He sent a waitress over 15 minutes later, and she took it off the table and did not return or even say they regret the bad food service. Larry the manager is a complete JERK.... I wonder if he has experiences in the food industry? I'll never return. Warm beer, bad service, Dirty Place to Eat."

"On a whim, prompted by a local cousin's recommendation, our family decided to stop here for lunch after attending a funeral. The staff were incredibly accommodating for our large group, and everything was ordered correctly. I opted for the BLT with extra bacon and fries, and it did not disappoint! My mother had the fried fish (I think it was catfish) and she shared a piece with me. Wow! It was a generous portion and really delicious. Both my mother and uncle enjoyed a hefty slice of pumpkin cake for dessert. Everyone left feeling satisfied and happy. A few of us grabbed some candy from the checkout counter; my mother chose what looked like a chocolate-covered banana treat. I brought home two containers of dirt cake for my husband, made with peanut butter and chocolate. This place is definitely a local favorite, and I highly recommend it for anyone passing through."

"I've only been here once and that was enough for my entire family! Where do you go and order potato skins where they totally scrape out all of the potato and are left with ONLY the skins with a tiny bit of cheese and bacon sprinkled on it?? Who does that??? Potato skins does not mean just the skin!!! That's just my story! The rest of the family had some gross food too and the bill was a fortune for this ripoff dive! I'd rather hop in my car and go to Altoona won't ever step foot in this dive again!"

As a fellow business owner, I would never turn away a loyal customer due to staffing issues or because we thought we weren't busy—especially with customers still at the bar and others waiting to be seated. This experience has certainly made us decide not to return. Currently, we are at PJ’s Tavern, where the staff warmly welcomed us, even though they were preparing to close. You might not know my name from this review, but I trust you can piece it together. It's disappointing that a restaurant with customers at their tables has never taken the time to learn their names or engage with them! On a positive note, Ginny, Tiffany, and Ethan have consistently provided friendly and welcoming service, and the food quality is good. Perhaps you, as owners, should spend a few minutes in the dining room to check on your patrons' experiences instead of having your waitstaff do all the work while you peek from the kitchen. If you're looking for a late-night dining option, here’s PJ's Tavern in Cresson’s phone number: 814-886-9924. They have new ownership and are very friendly! What a shame."
