"This is simply a top 10 restaurant in Houston. Every aspect is exceptional. The food is unique, the beverage selection is high quality and fun, and the service is even better. Your server will talk to you in detail about every aspect of the meal and create a completely unique experience. The brisket, the goatskin, the head cheese and everything in between is excellent."

Today was my first time at Underbelly and sorry to say I was somewhat disappointed I had high expectations based off of the great things I've heard.

I just gave Underbelly a second try, my previous visit being a year ago I won't be waiting as long to go again - I had forgotten how good the food is.

Underbelly never disappoints! I’ve been there quite a few times, and food is always delicious, fresh, and best of all unique. The staff is friendly and never pretentious. I look forward to my next visit! View menu

Fabulous night out! Nice patio! We ate the short ribs and ribeye. It was cooked to perfection! Melt in your mouth. The waiter was very knowledgeable about the wine and recommended a great bottle to compliment the food. Thank you Bryan!

The food is always stellar when we go. My favorite menu item is the Korean Braised Goat and Dumplings. The pork belly was also amazing! Tonight we also got to meet Chris Shepherd. He was so nice to us and is a truly humble guy. He works the line and takes complete ownership in his restaurant. His employees genuinely love working there!

Loves the casual but upscale open food. Food is interesting. I like the small plate concept and the sharing. (I am always interested in what other people eat so that the exchange works! Remember the girl's gate in Chicago, which we like for the same reasons. Very unique food and very well-known waiting staff. I'm looking forward to going back. View menu

Everything was great! They had a table for two on the veranda for us as we did not make a reservation on a Saturday evening and it was nice and comfortable. The free Valet was also great. Every dish was wonderful and the manager came by to make sure our night was great. If you appreciate local food and owner-operated businesses, this place is a must!

Submitted by Underbelly Reserve You for my wife's birthday tonight. Great cocktails at the bar and the menu was fabulous like Underbelly and 1/5. We had the crispy reissalat, crust noodles and hacker steak (may have the name wrong at the steak) and the only thing I regret is no more space in my stomach! You must try this place when you are in Houston!!!

"Food good. Location good. Service good. BUT, the hidden charges REALLY ruined an otherwise nice experience. Example: HH menu lists Martinis as a $3 upcharge to the $7 base charge. Fair enough. Bombay is a listed alcohol; requested. When the bill was returned I was charged for a Bombay Sapphire which is not on the HH list. Charge? $11 $3. I asked for Bombay, not Bombay Sapphire. Waiter: Oh, let me look into that. AND, by the way Blue Cheese olives? Extra $1. REALLY? I 've NEVER paid extra for BC olives ANYWHERE. AND the confusing menus that a dish as including an extra sauce, [and I don 't recall the exact language but it made it seem that an additional items could be selected as well. Oops, there goes an extra $10.95. AND, the waiter recommending a twice-baked potato. Bah, boom, another $5.95. [which in fairness is disclosed on the menu in a different location, but waiter made it sound as if it was a no-charge option on the surf and turf. AND the split plate charge which I don 't think was disclosed on the menu. Ding, ding, extra $3.00. Was this a waiter, who was overly up-selling or restaurant deception? Don 't know. As I said, the food WAS good. AND, the ambience [at least in the bar area, stay away of the hotel-ballroom-like main dining area was nice. Just beware the nickel and dime charges that the waiter won 't be disclosing to you."
