"Was in Buckhead and decided to try Urban Wu. The Kroger shopping strip mall is a little dated and I was a little concerned as the storefront looked like it was closed. On opening the door, I was pleasantly surprised! The interior was hip and modern. There was only one other table in the restaurant which is sometimes concerning. Ordered the Dan Dan noodle appetizer. Entrées were Sichuan Spiced Fried Fish Nuggets and Wu's Crispy Pork Rib. All 3 dishes were delicious! They had the perfect blend of spices, extremely flavorful and perfectly cooked. While dining we noticed that they were doing a brisk take out business. Would have given 5 stars but took a star away for the service. While service was gracious, they missed several cues like serving us noodles but we had to wait for a while to get their attention in order to get chopsticks to eat with. We asked for a dish of chili peppers which they brought promptly but there was no spoon to serve out of. And we were the only ones in the restaurant! But, overall, the food is delicious and I would return."

The strip mall was currently under construction, but the restaurant itself was fantastic. The food was excellent, and each plate is generous enough to share. Food rating: 5/5.

The dishes we ordered traveled well during delivery. The sesame chicken featured a lovely ginger flavor that really made it stand out, and the lo mein was fantastic—definitely the best takeout lo mein in Atlanta!

We were craving some Chinese food and we were very lucky to come across Urban Wu. It is definitely worth the stop if you want some more authentic Chinese food with very powerful smells and great taste! If you get anything that is spicy, be warned that it is very spicy! View menu

I haven't had Sichuan food to comment on the authenticity of the dishes but my coworker, and my friend and her boyfriend told me this is their favorite authentic Chinese joint in Atlanta. When my ex and I went, they were a bit slow to serve food, but the dishes were good! Would recommend their lamb and herb dish (I forget the name of the dish).

I relocated to the U.S. in 2017 and spent two years living in New York City before moving to Connecticut and, most recently, Atlanta. I must say that Urban Wu's dishes are absolutely phenomenal and truly transport me back to my memories of China. Some of the dishes even remind me of my childhood. Additionally, the staff is incredibly friendly, and the chef is simply outstanding!

This restaurant far surpassed my expectations. To be honest, I was trying to head to a different place but missed my turn, and with the heavy traffic making me grumpy, I decided to just pull into a random spot in the shopping center to find something to eat. I have to admit, the exterior of the restaurant isn't very inviting, so we didn't have high hopes. However, we were pleasantly surprised by how good the food was! After spending three years in China, we have pretty high standards for Chinese cuisine, and this place delivered. The service was excellent as well. If I lived in the area, I would definitely make this my go-to restaurant. View menu

We had a dinner reservation for a party of 4 for 6:30 pm on Sunday, 2/5/23. We made the reservation on Seated, an app where you earn money back on meals at certain restaurants use my code erin2109 and we both get 10! , so we got 14% back! Plenty of parking. Very casual you can wear whatever you want.We split appetizers and each got an entree. Here's what we got: Veggie Spring Roll .95 : Very mini! Pan Fried Veggie Pot Stickers 8 for 9.95 : Good! Cool presentation! Sesame Chicken 14.95 : Large portion! Tasty! Mongolian Beef 14.95 2 for beef : Also large portion and also tasty! We appreciated the big portions. We each had enough for a leftover meal. The service was super quick. I wouldn’t go ou...

They were open on New Year’s Day, which is a definite plus. I tried the General Tso’s chicken, mala cucumber salad, and bam bam shrimp. Overall, the food was what you’d expect from Americanized Chinese cuisine, but there’s room for improvement. The General Tso’s chicken consisted of smaller pieces than I prefer, and I like my sauce to be a bit thicker. However, the mala cucumber salad was excellent—I'm a fan of the spicy oil, and its thick, cloudy texture is very flavorful. It’s best served cold. The shrimp was good as well, although once again, the pieces were on the smaller side, which isn't a dealbreaker for me; just an observation. It tasted great, and I appreciated the addition of cilan...

"My husband and friend came in to grab a sandwich. They have eaten here countless times and never had any issues, until today. They ordered two sandwiches, grabbed their drinks and sat at a table. 57 minutes later, they still haven’t received their food. or any update on how long it will be/sorry it’s taking a bit longer than usual). When asked how much longer it would be before, one of the staff said they were doing a catering order first. catering orders are made in advance and you would think they would serve the customers that are in store waiting). My husband then asked for his money back and stated he actually needed to get home not to worry about it. The woman at the counter had amply Attitude and stated the sandwiches were coming out right now. Do they just want them to wrap them up. My husband said that was OK. He really just needed to get going. The girl at the front then yells to the back “nah just throw them away they don’t want them”. The manger came out and spoke for a split second, again they had been here over an hour at this point, and after the attitude from the check out gal my husband wanted to wash his hands clean of it. The manger just said “oh it will be back on your card in a business day or so”I would seek better training for your staff. All of the company supers/project managers would come in and eat together weekly. Unfortunately we will not be back."
