"I eat here all the time, but after today's experience, I may not come back. I ordered the Stodge burger and requested to substitute cheddar for American cheese, but the server said that wasn't possible. I then ordered the hamburger steak plate and asked for four fried shrimp on the side, only to be informed that I would have to pay for the entire poor boy sandwich meal. I was surprised because I had successfully made that request a few times before. When I pointed this out, the server mentioned that it was a different chef with different rules. I acknowledged that it was good to know, but this new policy might have just cost you a regular customer. I hope it was worth it!"

"We drove out of our way for this place. We ate here maybe 2 months ago. When will we have Hungarian food close again so we had to try it. The food was good. We did not know what to expect. I had the Beef Paprikas and J had the Chicken Paprikas. We liked the beef better.....these are the meats cooked and bathed in paprika spice and served with their juice over mashed potatoes. The beef was very good, the chicken was just okay. So, we decided to split one last entree and it was the Stuffed Cabbage. It was tasty also and for us ranked just below the Beef Paprikas. It was a cabbage roll stuffed with beef and it’s sauce. Tasty. The portion sizes can seem small though if you are hungry. The atmosphere was nice and clean. Very nice. We sat at the bar and wonder if there could be a more clean kitchen around? It looked spotless. The price will be around $15...maybe a little less but if you get 2 things then over. Can drinks only. Diet Coke. Our server was the owner. He was very nice and told us all about the place, the family history, Hungarian Food, etc..... We would go back sometime."

"I had the worst experience that I’ve ever had at any establishment in my life! The cashier was extremely rude and disrespectful. As a former life long resident of Kilgore I always stop by Johnny Ozark when I’m in town BUT never again!! I was told that “We don’t have any original chicken because they ain’t making no more”. While I continued to order my food, I’m assuming the man that blasted through the door was the manager, he proceeded to announced to the whole restaurant that as of 7:05 pm “I’m not making anymore dark meat! Don’t sale anymore legs!”; despite the fact that the restaurant doesn’t close until 9pm. At that point I had already ordered chicken legs and was not offered any alternatives. We made adjustments to our order once again; and having had dealt with several rude comments throughout the ordering process my spouse stated to me that “we should have gone somewhere else”. To which the cashier responded with “Yes, you should have!” We felt so disrespected that we had to exit the restaurant immediately! As we were leaving the cashier began to yell out sarcastic remarks to which we ignored. If I could leave this place a negative star I would BUT unfortunately google makes you leave at least one."

"I ordered a breakfast burrito with chorizo, jalapeños, potatoes, egg, and cheese. There was about a half a tablespoon of beans at just one end of the burrito. The chorizo had no flavor and when I say no flavor, I had to add what this place calls hot sauce (basically tomato sauce) to my meal to have any flavor. Even the jalapeños were bland. The waitress needs to be working in another field, maybe at a register at a gas station. There was a really nice man with his son. Several others came in after. She was taken the others orders as the man and his son patiently waited. The young boy started acting like he was eating. Another employee finally came out of the back to bring food to another table. The man finally spoke up (after about 15-20 minutes) and asked if someone was going to take their order. If someone knows of another place to have breakfast in kilgore, please share. I come to kilgore e every 3 weeks to get my nails done. I don't eat McDonald's, burger king, or any of that. Thanks in advance."

"We had a birthday celebration for myself and my friends! There were a total of 15 adults and 3 children. Unfortunately, not everyone was able to dine at the same time and I was unable to drink. Some of us had never tried the food before and the restaurant was very crowded. The service was not great, but the food was good. However, we were disappointed that we couldn't all eat together. Overall, it was a bit overwhelming to dine in a group where no one could eat at the same time."
