"I had an amazing experience at this restaurant, trying a unique style of cuisine that you don't find often. I visited with my girlfriend for a date night and we had a fantastic time. The dishes were inspired by Vietnamese flavors and ingredients, but presented in a modern, upscale way. The food was beautifully plated and each course was not only delicious, but also sophisticated. We opted for a prix fixe menu for Valentine's Day and were truly impressed. Despite the smaller portions, we left feeling satisfied. As a bonus, they gave us a jar of duck fat at the end, which we were thrilled about as home cooks. We can't stop talking about our experience and can't wait to return."

The food at this restaurant was decent, however, it did not justify the high prices. Some dishes, such as the sweet potato shrimp fritters and the grilled cheese, were exceptionally good. The service was disappointingly slow.

Had dinner last night and it was DELISH! The dishes are well balanced, complex and packed with flavor. We didn’t do the set menu and kind of regretted it.. we ended up paying just as much without trying as much. The pho broth with the grilled cheese and the duck were my highlights.

Had a good dinner at Van Ða! Downstairs had more seating, but the other table of 4, was way too loud or high that it was bothering to enjoy the meal. Fish was very crispy, and the sauce was so good duck was a little too sweet, in my opinion. I wish the noodle portion was a little bit bigger. Service was really good and informative. View menu

We had a mixed experience here. The food, although flavorful, was definitely not up to Michelin quality. The shaking beef was not very tender at all, which was disappointing considering the amount of time it took for our food to arrive. We also had the duck, which was cooked to perfection, but for a pasta dish, 4 bites of noodles left us hungry. To top it off, the service was just ok, nothing special at all. Meh.

A lovely NYC restaurant in the heart of Alphabet City. The appetizers were quite amazing and earned the reputation that we have seen written about. The shaking beef was a bit scant on beef, but succulent and flavorful. I ordered a side of rice to sop up the gravy. We would give it another try and maybe this time elect the fixed price menu option. Service was cordial and attentive on a very busy evening. Thanks Van Da...we enjoyed your cuisine.
