"Dontino’s La Vita Gardens Craving the taste of Italy? Stop by this family-owned gem that’s been a part of the Akron area for nearly 100 years! From the place mats and color schemes, to the vintage photographs and decor, Dontino’s La Vita Gardens serves something we think is super important in dining experiences: authenticity. We absolutely loved the style of this restaurant, and want to go back just to sit at the beautifully arranged bar (which we are SO sad we weren’t able to photograph). We didn’t get anything to drink, but were plenty satisfied with our pre-meal bread and salads. The house-made Italian dressing was absolutely wonderful, and the bread was fresh and refilled promptly upon our request! For our main courses, we got the baked manicotti and the spaghetti with mushrooms. The spaghetti dish was very average, and we weren’t too wowed by any uniqueness or flavors. But the manicotti dish was absolutely DELICIOUS, and was probably the freshest we’ve tasted. Additionally, Dontino’s menu is large, diverse, and filled with incredibly reasonably priced items. Overall, it’s likely in the cards for us to visit again and try something new!"

"My wife and I stopped in for breakfast today and we were seated right away. Our waitress took our order and it came out to our table in a very short time. The food was very good, our waitress took good care of us. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone that is in this area. I’ve never had a bad meal at this restaurant."

"You are greeted with a smile. The establishment is clean, especially the bathrooms. The service is always excellent and the servers are friendly and efficient. The food is served promptly and hot. You rarely have to ask for a refill on your coffee. I do wish they served a better brand or variety of hot teas though. Now the food, no matter what I order I am confident it will be good. Their omelettes are tasty and made with 4 eggs. I especially like the veggie one. The vegetables are fresh and crunchy. The waffles are light, fluffy, and tasty. Their fruit toppings are glazed, so I do not order...just my personal preference. Nothing is over seasoned and they are conservative on the salt, which is good since you can always add it to taste. Unfortunately, they cut back on the variety of breads offered with your breakfast; now serving only white, wheat, and rye. I hope they bring some back soon, especially the sourdough or at least the bagel option. Like most restaurants, prices have increased; however, they are still reasonable compared to other similar breakfast/lunch establishments. In summary, you will get a good breakfast served with a smile, in a clean environment and without breaking the bank. So go and enjoy dining out with your family! *Remember to extra-tip your servers during these rough economic times."

"This place has no need for good reviews. It needs to close at 2pm in order to recuperate from being bum-rushed by adoring customers. I spent more than $30 but I also ordered the most expensive item on the menu and bought a loaf of sourdough bread togo. I bought the loaf to spread this phenomenal experience throughout the rest of my week. It?s a large crusty loaf of sourdoughso my plan is to finish it off by making French toast and croutons if it turns hard before I have a chance to eat it all. In thefuture I plan to stop by to at least pickup a loaf and probably one of their phenomenal looking chocolate croissants when Idon?t have the time to stay and eat. I sat at the bar across from the kitchen window and everything looked so good it made itdifficult for me to choose one main course from the menu. When the waiter asked me what I will have I chose the steak and eggsbecause that happened to be what I was reading about at the time and my thought was ?how can I go wrong?? It was outstanding.Next time I will go for either their strawberry blintzes or something involving one of their croissants. If your hungry, youreally don?t have to worry about walking away dissatisfied or hungry. I suggest ordering what ever seems the tastiest to you atthe moment. This place is a treasure to the community it serves."

"Today is my grandmother's birthday and she told me she'd go to breakfast with the girls. I called and asked if I could get her a dessert and pay for it. The lady on the phone wanted to let me go and then come to pay for it. I explained to her that I lived in Washington, D.C., one was unable to get there. I told her it was totally okay and that I was on the phone with her and wanted to surprise her, but I totally understand. Less than an hour later, I'll check my phone and see that one of their friends sent me a video. These amazing people in Farmer Boy sang happy birthday and brought her a piece of cheesecake on her, but almost mentioned it from her granddaughter in D.C. This was the motivation I needed to come through my working day. It is nice to know that there are still incredible people in my hometown! I can't wait to check this place for the next time."
