The experience was a bit inconsistent! The restaurant could use a thorough cleaning throughout. It's noticeable that some of the food has been left on the heat for too long, resulting in a dried-out texture. Wishing them the best of luck! View menu

The restaurant has a new name: River City Diner. They serve delicious breakfasts! On my way out, I couldn't help but notice the pie display. Although I didn't have any room for dessert, I could tell that choosing just one would have been a tough decision.

Long time staple in the Oconto area. I have been going to Wayne's throughout the years since I was a kid. Wayne's doesn't disappoint. Great menu variety. Good service. And can't forget the desserts!! I had the hot turkey sandwich this visit, and it was a great comfort food. (I was so hungry that I didn't get a picture). For dessert I had the grasshopper pie.....if you like mint, this ones for you!

During a trip up north, we decided to stop at this restaurant, which I had visited previously. The food was decent, but I was particularly keen on trying their pie. On a previous visit, I had brought my aunt here, and she really enjoyed the pie. Unfortunately, it was just average this time; my wife makes pies that are much better. I think the next time we find ourselves in the area, we’ll choose to go somewhere else instead. View menu

Food here was good, they accommodate kids very well. Their signature thing is the pies. We tried the strawberry pie and the whip cream was good, but a ton of it. The poor was good. We had cod, blt, half soup/half sandwich, and a couple of things from the kids menu. Everything was good. No complaints. Not excellent, but good. I'm not sure if it's worth the trip out of the highway, but you do get a very small town Wisconsin experience, which is what we were aiming for.

When staying at a campground in Oconto, one of my friends said there's some awesome pie place in town. With the help of Yelp we found Wayne's Restaurant and came here strictly for pie! There are so many selections, it was really hard to choose. They were out of my first pick when looking at the menu. Be aware the menu might not always be accurate. I got a slice of the Rasberry Yummy Pie, and it was fantastic. My friends and I all share bites of our pie, so I got a bite of five pies and instantly went into a sugar food coma. Our server was BRAND new, like a young teenage girl working the first day of her first job. She was nice and shy, and who I assumed was the owner helped her out for most...

This place is actively changing branding to more of a BBQ joint versus a mom and pop diner. We stopped in on memorial day for lunch and they were out of most BBQ items and due to the holiday I understand that. We had to wait a long time for a waitress to come take our orders and bring us our drinks which were then served in paper cups. My dad told me this is not normal usually you get a glass cup. Once our food came I was happy with all the flavors of the brisket tacos. They ran out of the specific cheese that is supposed to come with them so I had cheddar cheese as a substitute.
