"West End Perk is a hidden gem in Marshalltown, Iowa. It's one of my favorite spots to visit whenever I'm in the area. You have to travel just 2 minutes from downtown to get to West End Perks. It's a great place for coffee and breakfast. Plenty of parking and seating. Great place for groups!

Great little place, and personally vested owner focused on quality. Had a chicken salad sandwich and some beef vegetable soup. It hit the spot on a cold day, and the local crowd was nice. Relaxing and would recommend to anyone. View menu

The best cinnamon rolls in Iowa are right here at West End Perk! I used to live in Marshalltown and every time I come back, I have to come have that cinnamon roll and a caramel-vanilla latte. The owner is fabulous and is in house every day.And don't forget that they serve lunch!!

The woman at the counter (I regret not asking her name) was incredibly nice and helpful. She engaged in great conversation and surprised me with a delicious coffee, making for a delightful experience! We stopped by while traveling and were treated with a lot of kindness and respect!

"I don't know how they make a loose meat sandwich taste SO very good! Their illusive secret has evaded me no matter how many recipes I've tried from the web. Even if I could duplicate their sandwiches, my family would still insist on going to Maid-Rite for their yummy malts and plethora of pie! Maid-Rite has been a staple of our town for as long as I can remember. It's classic. It's an icon. It's something everyone should experience. (The only reason for 4 star instead of 5...some of us in my family have food allergies, and there's no eating options for them, and no info available from any employees there. Do the buns contain dairy? Do any of the meat ingredients contain gluten?"

"What a delightful surprise at this charming little diner! The owner is incredibly kind and works hard, greeting customers and serving piping hot coffee. As my son exclaimed, "This is the best breakfast ever!" The pancakes were large and fluffy, and the eggs tasted like they were freshly sourced from local farms. The coffee was promptly refilled, and everyone inside was friendly, making us feel like we were visiting a friend's home. I highly recommend this place! Come for the delicious food, and stay for the warm atmosphere and excellent service."

"The food was excellant as always but got to thinking later was suppose to get half chicken and didn't but could be I'm wrong but the place is great and it feels very homey and comfortable there.I meet a very old and dear friend there whenever we can and we get great food and spend 2 or 3 hours eating and talking and no one seems to mind us just sitting there and don't bother us unless offering more to drink or dessert.If you want a great place to meet friends or take your family and love great BBQ then this is the place to do that.And celebrating Birthday or holidays or just getting out of bed another day and want enough to eat right then or for a couple meals they are great doggie bags just for that because you won't walk out hungry and if you do that's all on you because the staff strives to make sure you get more then enough to eat .And guys if your looking for that special place to take your best girl you'll do well here."
