"We drove two hours for my husband's birthday brunch on Sunday. We had hoped to sit outdoors and watch the freighters go by. The outdoor patio was closed and that was sad since it was such a lovely day. This was not mentioned on their website. Our server, Tony was personable and perfect. He was the best thing about our dining experience. We won't be going back since the food was just fair and a disappointment. There were several choices but the fish was mushy, the beef and peppers were chewy, the eggs Benedict were overcooked, the bacon was too salty. The desserts were substandard. The peach cobbler was made with canned peaches, the eclairs and strudel were still frozen. My husband did like the waffles, roast beef, ham and breakfast sausages. Others had told us the food wasn't that great but we wanted to dine outdoors so we took a chance. We should have listened to our friends and family."

"Made it today on our mountain adventure to Blowing Rock. And heard lots about the food at this local spot. 15 min wait without a reservation at 3 pm on a Friday for lunch. So suggest you go to their site and make a reservation days in advance. The manager suggested a few dishes, but we were not hungry enough to have full meals but ordered away! We started with amazing soups, just a cup each. One pumpkin curry, and one was a chicken dumpling. Oh, so good! then we followed up with the trout nachos. I wish there were more chips but so delicious. and we shared a plate of blackened trout and grits with a side of beets with goat cheese. And an order of smoked chicken wings. Everything was delicious, super clean, and great service. Kennedy was our server, and she made sure that we were always hydrated and checked in as we were sitting outside. "Look no further when visiting Blowing Rock. One of our favorite spots when we come to visit. Located by the beautiful park if you come early you can walk around the park or walk after the dinner and get yourself sweets from Wilkins. But let me tell you about the food here!!! My husband and I big foodies and have lived in NY and traveled the world and have had one of the best dishes. This place is on our list of best places to eat. Our waitress Julia was awesome and super sweet! We ended up chatting about food, nature and tattoos! We like to sample dishes and share them together. We had octopus which was so temper and not too chewy(perfect texture), Mac and cheese (delicious!!! and so creamy) soup of the night (kimchi+ mushrooms), Caesar salad, trout from the main dish, red curry from the special of the night. Everything was top notch. We enjoyed every dish. Can't recommend this place enough!!! Just make reservations and enjoy the beautiful night at Bistro Roca! Also did I tell you how cozy it is inside? Just go!"

"I am grateful that the restaurant was open despite usually being closed on Mondays, especially with the upcoming shutdown and holiday weekend. The staff was wonderful and friendly, and the food came out quickly just as our child started getting hungry. The grilled salmon with honey and chili sauce over roasted rosemary potatoes and asparagus was amazing. I would highly recommend it if you are debating what to order. When I stopped by again, the food was still absolutely delicious. The white chicken chili was out of this world, especially on Thursdays when it's the special. The restaurant has a great selection of beer, wine, and mixed drinks. The chicken salad croissant was a nice lighter option to pair with the soup. Don't forget to save room for dessert, it's worth it! The restaurant is fun and creative, even the bathroom is quirky. Overall, this place is fantastic. Check out the pictures below. Sorry, guys, I can't speak to the women's bathroom experience, but it's definitely a unique place to visit."

"Excellent fish and chips and open face beef with perfectly toasted thicker bread, mashed potatoes with a bit of skin left on and excellent, not over cooked green beans (still with some remaining texture and bright green color). I wasn’t expecting pepper on the beans so if not your preference could maybe ask the chef to hold back. Pleasant staff. We ate inside but also large patio for outside dining."
