"One Saturday, we were exploring the city, visiting Ocean Beach, the botanical gardens, and several wine bars. Eventually, we found ourselves in the charming neighborhood of West Portal, which was easily accessible by Muni. While looking for a place to have dinner, I came across Xiao Loong, which was reputed to have fantastic food but did not take reservations. Despite my usual reluctance to dine at such places, we decided to give it a try. Surprisingly, they had a table available for us almost immediately. Many tables cleared out soon after, so it wasn't as crowded as it seemed. However, it was evident that they were popular, as we noticed several takeaway orders being picked up."

My grandfather made me damp fish. Simple, fresh aromas with scaling and a hint of oil and ginger. I love the spicy steamed fish here. Try also the green beans and lamb!

My grandfather used to make steamed fish for me. Simple, fresh flavors with scallions and a touch of oil and ginger. I love the spicy steamed fish here. Try the green beans and lamb too!

I thoroughly enjoyed Xiao Loongs twist to their hot and sour soup. They also have some of the best pot stickers I've ever tried. A pork belly and/or prawns dish is also recommended, but I should note that 4 dishes should be more than enough for a party of 2.

One of the restaurants we often... We like healthy food and are able to find healthy dishes such as mushu shrimp, salmon, snow pea green and vegetable soup called Xiao Loong in the garden. (We demand less salt/oil and simply order dishes that can be produced in this way. View menu

We frequently visit this restaurant because we enjoy eating healthy food. We are able to find dishes such as mushu shrimp, salmon, snow pea greens, and a vegetable soup called 'Xiao Loong in the Garden'. We always ask for less salt and oil in our dishes, and the kitchen is happy to accommodate our request by remaking them accordingly.

I was hesitant about the credibility of the restaurant based on other Google reviews, but I am so relieved that I followed someone's positive review. This restaurant is underrated! The location was delightful, and not as crowded as downtown San Francisco. The atmosphere inside was also very pleasant. The enticing aroma that drifted out the door as we waited for the servers to clean up and seat us was mouthwatering. The appetizer we tried (Chinese Chicken) was delicious.

Wowowowowov this place is PRIME. I'm so glad I live so close to this place. So appalling. We have pot stickers. They're massive. Mix it with soy sauce and orange sauce. YUM. also very fill. Then I got the Tan Tan Noodle and holy Moly, who was so fucking delicious. Apparently it's or two people I ate Allll. The noodles are a cool thickness I've never had. The water chestnuts are so good with the peanut butter. The peanut taste is delectable. Get the dishes, please! You could easily share it with two people, but if you're really hungry, as I seem, you can get the whole thing down. View menu

Visited Xiao Loong for carry out dinner. I went for the steamed tofu with broccoli and some fried rice both vegan style. The first dish was a bit flat in spices which I compensated with Sriracha but the fried rice was spot on delicious. I am impressed and this is my first time trying real Chinese food. Service was slow due to some issue and it took them 30 minutes to get it prepared. I went with my cousins who are regulars here. They mentioned that this is the first time they experienced slower service. Still a great place!! Rating Food 5/5Ambience 4/5Service 3/5 Value for money 4/5

Wowowowowow this place is PRIME. I am so glad that I live so close to this place. So delectable. We got pot stickers. They are massive. So good. Mix it with the soy sauce and the orange-colored sauce they bring out. YUM. also very filling. Then I got the Tan Tan Noodle and holy moly that was so freaking delicious. Apparently it's or two people buuuut I ate it allllll. The noodles are a cool thickness that I never had before. The water chestnuts are so good with the peanut butt. The peanut flavoring is delectable. Get this dish please! You could easily share it with two people but if you're really hungry, like I was apparently, you can chow down the whole thing.

"Earlier this year Salty 's was featured in one of the top 100 places to eat in the Bay Area in 2022, and after trying it a couple times, it 's easy to see why. Quality and flavor, great customer service, it checks all those boxes. I occasionally visit the 24 hour fitness on Van Ness, and Salty 's happens to be just few short blocks away which makes it perfect when I 'm looking for a post-workout sandwich. And for those that know me, I love me my sandwiches. On my latest visit, I decided to go with the 'Glorious B sandwich, which come with turkey, bacon, avocado, pepper jack, veggies, and garlic mayo. The blend of flavors and high quality of the turkey is no wonder it 's at the very top of the menu list. It 's one of those sandwiches, that you can bring to park and not need a ton of napkins to get through. It was well put together, with the ratio of all the ingredients matching well. Nothing overpowering, just sandwich perfection. The size of the sandwich I thought was the perfect size for my appetite. As I 've gotten older I can 't put down as much food as I used to, and after one-half I knew I could 've stopped eating, be content, saved the rest for later. But of course I ate the whole thing and nothing sounds better than taking a quick power nap right after. I love that their menu has so many different sandwich combinations, so definitely take time to check their menu before calling-in/walking-in to order because it 'll definitely save you some time. On my latest visit, I was in and out in 10 minutes. Definitely towards the top of my list of sandwiches in this part of town!"
