"On the positive side, the restaurant appears to be run by a young couple; the woman took our orders while the man cooked in the kitchen. She was very friendly, and the service was attentive. They also served hot sweet chrysanthemum tea instead of water, which was a delightful touch. I appreciated the variety of Taiwanese dishes available on the menu. However, the downsides were significant. The beef noodle soup did not resemble any Taiwanese-style beef noodle soup I’ve had before. The noodles were well-cooked, but the broth tasted oddly sugary and lacked any spices or herbal flavors. The beef consisted of thin slices of lean meat, and the vegetables were just sliced green lettuce—no mustard greens were included. Hot chili oil helped salvage it a bit, but it still wasn’t great. As for the salt and pepper fried chicken, the pieces were more thickly sliced rather than the chunky pieces I expected. The coating was decent, but the seasoning was once again lacking the distinctive flavors of white pepper, garlic, and basil. It’s worth noting that this review reflects my experience with the dishes I ordered, and the restaurant seems to specialize in soup dumplings and Shanghai-style foods. I plan to return to try those items, as it’s conveniently located next to a Chinese grocery store. However, I would likely skip the Taiwanese offerings next time."

This is a welcoming family restaurant that serves authentic Shanghai cuisine. The dishes lean toward the sweeter side, as the chef hails from Shanghai. I really enjoyed my experience here and will definitely return.

Their Beef Scallion Pancakes are really fresh and tasty. I’ve tried the Beef Noodle Soup and it was very good. Glad that the food hasn’t changed between owners. Everyone was pleasant. The server also offered me a peach tea lemonade that was homemade. Thank you!!

Tired of eating most restaurants around here, this is my first time to try. What a pleasant surprise. The food is fresh and fast. Like to chat with the owner, is a humorous person. I saw the comment about the waitress. I think I’m lucky. The waitresses are all kind to me. It was nice experience. Definitely will come again!

Very chill and personal feeling with friendly staff. Lots of variety in the food and it can get pretty spicy (in a good way! . Appetizers: The Spiced Pig Tongue is one of my faves and refreshing! Entrees: The Stir Fried Beef w/ Pepper is about the best thing they have and very spicy! The Shredded Pork w/ Peppers is also very good and quite spicy. You just gotta walk to the register to pay. No need to ask for the check.

Average food. Very friendly lady working there. Ordered braised pork over rice, taiwanese pork chop over rice, oyster omelette, popcorn chicken, and scallion pancakes. All the dishes are decent and there's a homey feel to it. The flavor is a little on the sweet side. Oyster omelette is like Korean seafood pancakes with a semi gelatinous center. Surprised to see the name changed but we gave it a try anyway. Some items on the menu were similar to the previous Taiwan Tasty. We ordered the beef burrito 牛肉捲餅 and dumplings with pork and shrimp 三鮮水餃; they were Delicious! They also had a few specials on the black board, so we tried the oyster mushrooms with beef cubes, and didn't disappoint. We also checked the other table who truly enjoyed the food as well, and they highly recommended the soup dumplings 湯包. We will return for sure!

I ordered the classic lu rou fan, which came with potatoes and lettuce as garnish. Unfortunately, it was disappointing and excessively salty. I also tried the beef noodle soup, but the beef was tough and dry—it was not the tender beef shank typically found in this dish. The popcorn chicken was missing basil, which was a letdown. Additionally, the ground pork with black bean and leek was drenched in oil, giving it a sludge-like consistency. I used to order these dishes regularly from Taiwan Tasty, so I wish I had realized that this was a different restaurant when I looked it up on Yelp. Please be cautious if you decide to visit!
