"The first question most people ask is “Is this like the Olive Garden? Because I like the Olive Garden.” 1) That is the wrong approach to this restaurant. 2) The Olive Garden is horrible and you should feel a little bad you like it. Oliveras is amazing! I can not describe how great the food and service are, but I’m going to try. They make their own sauce that tastes like they took the effort to care about how their sauce tastes. You never have to ask, “Does this sauce taste a little off to you? Like maybe they mashed tomatoes with dirty feet and used sewer water? Like how it tastes at the Olive Garden?” I had the Toscano Stromboli. I’m pretty sure if Jesus had this at the last supper, we would be having pieces of that during mass. The atmosphere really pulls it all together. They don’t feel the need to be pretentious and have boring decor just because they serve food Italian food. They want folks to enjoy themselves and eat pretty amazing food. The restaurant was c-l-e-a-n clean. It was pretty spotless even when it was busy. There were no odd spots where you had to ask yourself, “Is that bolognese or is that a crime scene?” Next time, you are looking for a wonderful meal that tastes like it is worth the price you see (which is pretty affordable). I suggest turning the car around from that trip to Olive Garden and go to Oliveras instead. You probably will not be disappointed."

Burger King

Burger King

251 S Dexter St, Ionia I-48846, United States

Lunch • Drinks • Burgers • Fast Food

"Probably the overall best Burger King I have been to. That isn't a glowing recommendation because most Burger Kings aren't that great. But the owners here keep the place up, workers are among the best you will find at a Burger King and the food is OK. I try not to go to fast food more than a couple times a month, but if you are in a hurry, you can do a lot worse that this place for fast food. I also give Burger King credit for adding plant based options to their menu. A side note, both my kids got their first summer job here 30 or so years ago, and frankly it was quite poorly run.and bad even for a Burger King. It ended up good for the kids though. The first day of work, they put my 15 year old son on the cash register because he was the only employee who could count money accurately. 2 years later when my daughter worked a summer, she was frequently harassed, but held her own and put the creeps in their place. The place has improved dramatically since then. The good thing was after working there, the kids determined they would study hard to improve themselves so they could hopefully do better both eventually went to graduate school in medicine and law, and work in those fields to this day. Some not so great things can end up leading to better things. I do give credit though to the current ownership turning this place into a solid fast food restaurant. Taco Bell

"Taco Bell has become, by far, the best fast food establishment. As other places have pared back their menus and their staffs, leading to long waits and fewer options, Taco Bell has upped their game. Every time I have visited a Taco Bell in the past three months, the staff has been incredibly cheerful and professional. Their food is delicious and a great value; my family routinely spends 20 30% less to eat at Taco Bell than at other fast food places. Nutritional information is displayed to help guide healthier eating. Better yet, they have EXTENSIVE vegetarian options. As the father of a vegetarian, this is incredibly helpful at McDonald's, her options included ice cream and French fries, until we learned that not even the fries are vegetarian. At this particular Taco Bell, there was a self ordering kiosk that kept wait times to a minimum. Our order was filled promptly and correctly, and the staff was friendly, as always. It is fashionable to complain about things; in 21st century America, we have a tendency to take for granted some of the wonders of modern society. Every time I go to Taco Bell, I am reminded that sometimes, big businesses give millions of people something incredible every day. Taco Bell is doing that right now. I encourage you to be grateful for Taco Bell to recognize the great work it's doing to make the world a little brighter for millions. I give Taco Bell an enthusiastic five stars."
