"During my vacation in Florida, I was in the mood for some delicious fresh seafood, so I decided to try out this restaurant with an old friend. I opted for a trio option on the menu, which included a zucchini corn dish in a butter sauce, three shrimp, three sea scallops, and a very small portion of haddock. At $36, I expected a more generous serving of seafood. I felt quite disappointed with what I received and wished for a bigger portion. While the food was indeed excellent, I believe that for that price, I should have received four shrimp, four scallops, and a larger piece of haddock—not just a tiny one-inch-wide piece. I now understand why so many diners were ordering hamburgers and fries, but I was really hoping for some fresh seafood."

"SHUT THE FRONT DOOR!! We did some studying and this was reported to be the #1 place in LBK, and if it isn’t, I’ll challenge you to show me better!! The only downside is that the lobster bisque was just average. Calamari was fresh, not frozen (restaurant GM stopped by our table told us what made the difference and you must get the creole mustard with it. The lobster escargot dish? You’ve got to be kidding me, I wanted to take a bath in it!! Ahi tuna shrimp Norma for our entrees (I know that’s a lot, we couldn’t decide!! we’re both hands down insanely good. I’m an older dude, and I’ve eaten out a lot, this is top 15 or 20 restaurant meals of all time, and I’ve eaten all over the US. We’ll come back in a couple days for appetizers dessert"

"We have been coming to La Norma since it opened and before that loved coming to Ciao. Unfortunately last night's meal was a disappointment. 1st of all, both my husband and I order Veal Marsala, which was served luke warm at best. And the meat was tough. Our friend ordered the Lobster Ravioli and said the sauce way overpowered the dish. He could not taste any lobster. We will return to La Norma, but will be very careful what we order. Had we not been with friends, I would have sent our meals back. I hope they can remedy this poor performance by the kitchen soon, as we love the location (close to home), and the atmosphere"

"Charming little diner with excellent outdoor seating. The patio was quite pleasant, even at noon in the summer. Unfortunately, my salad contained wilted and rotten lettuce, and it was evident that it had been hastily taken from a bag and tossed onto the plate with minimal attention. Given the price, I was disappointed by this oversight."

"My wife and I spent a week in the area and decided to try Dry Dock. Our first impression was that the restaurant could really use more parking. Fortunately, we managed to snag a spot just as someone was leaving. It seemed to be a bit more challenging for others. However, once we stepped inside, everything improved significantly. Since we didn’t have reservations, we had to wait about 45 minutes at the bar, but that turned out to be enjoyable as we chatted with a few fellow vacationers. When our table was ready, we were taken upstairs, where we were greeted with a fantastic view. Our server was exceptional and offered excellent recommendations. I ordered the Grouper, and it was outstanding! Overall, we had a really wonderful experience."

"The food was very good. The service was good. My wife speaks fluent French and was able to communicate in French, that was nice for her. We were not greeted when we walked in, and no one was there. We thought there was a private party but in fact it was the restaurant. Kind of small but fine. The website did not match the menu. We ended up having a fixed three-course meal That's surprised us a bit. Also, they don't serve alcohol. It's only a wine bar which I really wanted a martini. "The food here is excellent and a pretty good value compared to others with the same food quality. We had a table of 8 and no one was disappointed with their food. We were quite disappointed in not being allowed to taste our wine before ordering a full glass or bottle. It’s unheard of with a restaurant of this quality. Our waitress noted that during an earlier staff meeting, they were told by management to give no tastings. She did sneak one in for us. Management put her in a compromised position as well. It comes across as very rude and cheap. Disappointing."

"Please make a reservation before arriving. We were very lucky someone canceled. Our wait time was 5 minutes. The location was so romantic and perfect, a table for 6 on the water. The cocktails were unique and tasty. Our appetizers are what dreams are madeof. First the Prince Edward Islands Mussels $18 the pairing of citrus butter sauce, onions tomatoes are explosive. Then theBacon- Wrapped scallops for $22, it was crispy sea scallops bacon drizzled with maple syrup and deep fried for about 3 minutesperfect. So, it was the first day of the season of stone crabs, so we ordered 6lbs of stone crab. The chef’s skills were putto the test you passed with flying flavors A ! "The owner/manager has the worst attitude and customer service. I’m a full time resident on Longboat (also 9 months pregnant) and went in to get 2 pizzas and he refused to take my America Express. I explained that was the only card I had and he still refused. Every time we go there they are always rude, especially the lady at the bar. Never going back."

"We have visited this restaurant before and are big fans of Laundry's property and Mr. Tillman Fertitta! The food is excellent, the wine list is great, the waterfront view is spectacular, and the service from Jerman is fantastic. We started with a bottle of Sonoma Cutrer Chardonnay for my partner and I, and a couple of beers and Prosecco for our friends. The Shrimp mango stack, which used to be crab, was a delicious chilled appetizer served with fresh fried taro chips. For our main course, we all ordered the Prime rib with garlic mashed potatoes, button mushrooms, and creamed spinach on the side. The prime rib was juicy, tender, and perfectly cooked to medium rare. Our sides were delicious and paired well with the main dish. The view of the water was beautiful, the service was smooth, the ambiance was fantastic, and the drinks were cold. It wasn't too busy since it's the off season for us Floridians. We will definitely be returning!"

"Very busy place. We waited a little while than asked if we could take the last table in the back. After getting everyone's okay we were sitted. We all ordered the breakfast special, $10.90. Not bad, eggs, bacon, pancakes and potatos. I also wanted the side of homemade cornbeef hash for $6.99. Unfortunately this was a disappointment. And side of one Biscuit or toast 2 sciles was $2.99. "I went to Whitney's twice in April 2023. Unfortunately, I feel compelled to leave a negative review due to potentially serious health and safety concerns regarding sodium content. Never mind the long wait and slow service the food is the problem here.My first visit, I ordered the Snapper dish, one of the most expensive items on the menu. It was served in a broth of what I highly suspect was pure soy sauce. I ate what I could, but not without also chugging an entire carafe of water and more. I am not one to complain, but out of concern I did ask the waiter to express my opinion of the sodium content to the chef. I am in my 20's but was with my elderly father. He also complained to me that his dish was fairly salty. But, if he had ordered and ate what I had, he could have had serious health consequences. I felt the effects for quite some time after, and I spent the next few hours consuming multiple day's worth of potassium through various sources to try to offset the sodium levels. I personally love salt, but this went way too far.I really liked the atmosphere, so I returned later on my own for lunch. Still enjoyed the vibe, but the sandwich and fries I ordered was still quite salty, indicating to me this is a systemic issue.To Whitney's PLEASE consider the sodium levels of your food, especially since a majority of the locale are older adults with potential health sensitivity to sodium."

"Well we have been there 20 times or more. Had dinner there several times but love to go eat at the dessert bar because it's the best. Tonight had an experience like never before. Went in an told hostess we were here for dessert and she ask us to follow her upstairs and once we got there she then told us there was no room for us but we could get it to go. NOT AT ALL WHAT WE WANTED. Had she told us that downstairs we would have just come back later. Then she said we could eat on the porch and she would send a waiter out. 30 minutes later no one showed up. My wife decided to order to go and was told she was standing in the way at the counter while waiting to get order. We were also told the empty tables were for people who ate downstairs to come up and have dessert. NEVER AT ANYTIME BEFORE HAD WE BEEN TOLD THAT OR TURNED AWAY. The manager needs to get this straightened out and soon. When we finally got our dessert there were still two tables in the dessert area plus 6 or 7 tables in the lounge area. SAD"

"We had a lovely dinner at Viento in January with our adult son. After having seen prior Trip Advisor reviews, we decided to give this a try, given its mid-island location, menu, and ability to get a reservation by telephone to the restaurant. Located in the Zota resort (on the gulf side), it had valet parking and you walk through the lobby to the back dining room. While the restaurant is in front of the outdoor pool, it was an indoor dining room with a large bar area with modern decor. We had wonderful, friendly service from Raven. My burrata beet salad and salmon entree were great. My husband enjoyed his berry spinach salad and shrimp/andouille sausage entree with Gouda grits and our son also liked his bolognese entree. We found the staff to be helpful and friendly. In speaking with the staff to give compliments after our dinner, we learned there had been chef changes in recent months. While this is a resort restaurant mainly serving their hotel guests, it is open to the public; we found it to be a good dining experience for us and worth a consideration by others due to their menu, service, and location we enjoyed."
