"1. The meat tacos were underwhelming; they weren't anything special for over two dollars. The quality of the meat was decent at best—definitely not bad, but it was dry and lacked flavor. 2. The burritos were enormous—truly massive! It's clear that the local crowd prefers larger portions over quality, which is common in the South. Unfortunately, I found a significant lack of quality in the ingredients. The Beef Burrito Supreme was similar in size to what you’d find at Chipotle, but the quality of the ingredients was noticeably lower. As someone who enjoys cooking, I would suggest reducing the portion size by about 30% and focusing more on enhancing the flavor and quality. 3. The Vegetarian Burrito came with less than five spoonfuls of rice and beans, which seemed pretty sparse. Considering we were charged the same price as a regular burrito and ordered it without cheese, it seemed unreasonable that they didn’t add extra beans or rice to compensate for the small portion. Meanwhile, the beef and chicken burritos had so much rice and beans that it was overwhelming. 4. On a positive note, the Birria tacos were delicious. I regretted not choosing them instead of the meat tacos; I only tried one this time as it was my first visit. I plan to come back to explore the more authentic dishes that are available only on weekends to see how they compare. Lastly, I enjoyed the Mexican Coca-Cola served in a glass bottle—it was fantastic! I wish this restaurant the best of luck and hope to see it succeed, but I truly believe some improvements are needed. For someone local who hasn’t had authentic Mexican food, this might still be a 4/5 star experience."

"My advice? Come hungry. We 'd researched the local eateries before ewe came down for a 2-night stay in New Bern, and landed on Spunky McDoogle 's for our second night because there was an event downtown that had made parking an adventure the night before.Set away form the city center, we figured this would be less of a problem here and besides, who can resist a place called Spunky McDoogle 's ? We were right about the parking being easier, but that didn 't mean the place wasn 't still packed. It WAS aSaturday night, after all, but a good crowd is generally a good sign, so we decided the 20 minute wait time was reasonable. I 'mnot sure we actually waited that long, but knowing now what I didn 't know then, I 'd have waited a lot longer than that. This isa a place that specializes in what I call happy food . I got the fish and chips, my partner got the spicy bacon burger, andboth of them got rave reviews. First the fish and chips. The first thing you 'll notice is that the batter isn 't flaking off andfalling back in the plate where you can 't eat it. Te second thing you 'll notice is that it 's not sweating excess oil, leavingyou with a light, crunchy, flaky wonderful bite. And the chips? Perfection. Crisp outside, fluffy inside, light enough that youfeel like you can eat a n entire pate of them, and plentiful enough that you basically get a chance to prove the theory. Andthe burgers, cooked to order, are so good it should be illegal. My SO had to tap out and get the last of hers boxed up because Iwas too full to bail her out this time. As it turned out, I ended up eating it before we checked out the next morning, and evencold it was marvelous. In short, we 'll definitely be back for more. Probably any time we 're in town. Or who knows, we mightjust drive down for dinner and make a day trip of it. It 's not THAT far. Not really"
