"This is definitely a finer dining institution compared to the other places I 've been in St. Louis... almost to a fault. I heard great things about this place, but unfortunately my experience did not match expectations. Maybe that 's my fault but here 's how my night went: First, the decor is beautiful. It is well designed, dimly lit, and great for a romantic outing or if you want to have a nice dinner. Strangely, they were playing upbeat hip hop/rap music, but at a low volume. We were sitting next to a gigantic, colorful tapestry. The bar is the coolest part of the restaurant hands down. The dining experience itself was lacking. Our server seemed to be falling asleep as he described the entrees. He described them very well, but I couldn 't hear him with his very soft voice and relatively loud music. We ordered drinks and got them promptly, but going from drinks appetizers entrees dessert seemed too long. I get there 's something to having a good time, but we were waiting for a while for simple requests such as ketchup. We were halfway through our entrees before we got ketchup and they missed one of the appetizers in our order (which was our most anticipated choice). The waiter did not write down our food selections, which I think is a fine dining norm, but I guess it led to not getting our cauliflower. The most unfortunate part of our night was the food. Most of the entrees were severely over salted. I thought it was just me, but I learned the next day one of my colleagues was there at the same time I was at dinner. She also noted her food was way too salty. I did not enjoy my entrée and neither did most of the people at my table. This might have been a one off, but this is my review of my evening. I hope I come back and can say this review was a mistake...."

"We love the local food they serve. It's tasty and visually appealing. They have Vegan and Gluten-Free (GF) options as well, even for dessert! Wait staff have always been excellent. We've been here three times and plan to return. It's nice to have a local restaurant that's reasonably priced. Our individual amount per person was a tad high due to drinks, appetizers, and dessert."

"I really wish I had taken a photo before devouring everything, but I can confidently say this is some of the best sushi in St. Louis! Everything tasted incredibly fresh and was absolutely delicious. My favorite sauce was the one that accompanied the fried shrimp tempura, and the American roll was a delightful new discovery that I will definitely order again. I need to visit this place in person soon!"

"I’m new to Webster Groves and have been driving by and wanting to visit this cafe. My family stopped in for breakfast and coffee this morning and loved the vibe. The coffee and pastries were delicious. The workers at the counter were very kind and pleasant. However, we observed several interactions with one employee (apparently the owner) and other customers. She was very rude! When we got up to leave we assumed they cleaned the tables off (first timers here). From where we were sitting we saw no place to put dishes. While we were getting into the car- another new customer came up to us and told us that the owner said “ well I guess those people are too good to bus their own tables”. This was also her first time at the cafe and she informed us that after that interaction she will never be back. You have a cute shop with a great vibe, but YOU, ma’am, sucked all the good energy out of it!! So sad! As a owner you should be making your guests feel welcome. After reading some of the comments on here, it’s clear that this has been an ongoing issue with you. I think you need to work on your customer service skills."

"I absolutely love this place! The servers are quick and attentive. The restaurant features a classic ambiance with hardwood antiques that create a warm and inviting atmosphere. There's a diverse mix of customers, including middle-aged patrons, families, and seniors. I ordered the shrimp and grits, and it was delicious! Every flavor was distinct, and I didn’t need to add any seasoning. The rolls served with Cajun butter were also fantastic! The side salad was generous in size, and everything tasted fresh and home-cooked. This is definitely a spot worth visiting for both lunch and dinner. Enjoy!"

"I ordered a well-done cheese pizza, while my friend ordered a meatball pizza. The restaurant wasn’t incredibly busy or anything, yet when our food arrived, I was given a pepperoni pizza instead. I also saw them serve the wrong pizza to another table. I ended up waiting an additional 15 minutes for my correct order, and throughout the experience, our waitress was snarky and unprofessional. To top it off, when the check arrived, they attempted to charge me for the pepperoni pizza. While it wasn’t a significant amount, the principle of being charged for their mistake was ridiculous. The entire situation made it clear that there’s a serious lack of training and management."

"first time in, ordered to go. staff was attentive and offered me water while I waited. I noticed waitresses eating behind bar by food prep and one blew her nose and didn't wash her hands after; really gross. pretty long wait for only ordering 4 rolls and it wasn't busy at all. the sweet egg was very good, and the other rolls were flavorful, but too spicy to really taste the tuna and salmon, which made me suspicious concerning freshness, that and the consistency of the tuna and salmon; which appeared runny and mealy. My st. Louis roll was over spiced and I only saw one option for eel and that was bbq; though a decent tasting roll. I would try this place again and hope for a bit better. The management/owner needs to have a talk concerning self hygiene/washing hands, and appropriate place to eat (not around food being prepped) and offer non spicy options for basic salmon and/or tuna rolls."

"I recently visited this restaurant for lunch and had an amazing experience. The service was absolutely wonderful; the staff were incredibly friendly and attentive. The food was also fantastic. I ordered the roasted red pepper hummus, which is my favorite dish here. I always choose to add some veggies with the pita, and the small extra charge is definitely worth it. This is the best roasted red pepper hummus I've ever had, and the jalapeños on top really enhance the flavor. It wasn't very busy during my visit, so I hope they’re doing well. I definitely recommend checking this place out! Their burgers and chicken sandwiches are also excellent, as I've enjoyed them in the past."

"Ordered a large taco order for a company function. Which was a frustrating process, only to have the order forgotten by the staff at time of pick up. Would not recommend. UPDATE: I am 100% sure this is the correct nachomamas. order was placed back in May. I was told by the worker i was not allowed to place large orders over the phone with her, that i would need to wait an hour for the manager. I placed the order online, instead, called and verified the order was received three days prior to the pick up time. they had received the order. the day of, went to pick up order at the specified time, and it was not ready, no one even knew about the $300+ order. food was late to the event. Save yourself the hassle and don't order from here."

"On December 13th, I ordered the baker's dozen box, which was described online as including one tub of simple glamour and one tub of garden veggie shmear. It also mentioned that they would be happy to substitute flavors in-store, which I emphasized in my order. When I arrived at the pickup table, I noticed that I received both tubs of smooth beats instead. I politely asked the person at the table if I could get my veggie shmear as it was supposed to be included. She then told me that I needed to call ahead because it doesn't come with the veggie shmear. She then took one of the unopened tubs of simple beats (which was still on the table) and threw it away, saying that since I didn’t specify, she had to dispose of it. When I spoke to the manager to explain the situation and assert that I was right, she was also rude."

"This restaurant is dedicated to providing excellent customer service, maintaining a clean environment, and serving delicious food. We tried the brisket sandwich and mac and cheese topped with short ribs. The brisket was extremely tender, though it may not have been as lean as some might like, which can be a difficult balance to strike. The mac and cheese was fantastic, featuring tender, moist, and flavorful meat. The service was quick, and the staff was both friendly and professional. It was heartwarming to see couples, families, and people of all ages enjoying their meals together. The tables are well-spaced, and there’s a lovely outdoor seating area where attentive staff look after guests. Prices are quite reasonable, and the portions are generous. Even the water was refreshing."

"In our search for a new coffee shop, my sister and I stumbled across Maypop Coffee Garden Shop, and we decided to stop by one weekend. The outside appeared to be relatively unassuming, with a coffee shop on one side and a greenhouse on the other. Upon stepping inside the coffee shop building of Maypop, my sister and I were pleasantly surprised by the quaint, homey atmosphere. The multiple seats and room to chat gave the space a cozy vibe. After viewing the menu of various lattes as well as assorted baked goods, I ordered an iced chai latte with almond milk. The price was reasonable, and it tasted amazing, with a strong but perfectly sweet flavor. After a few sips, my sister and I walked over to the greenhouse with our drinks in hand. Inside, the greenhouse was beautiful, with light streaming in through the windows and the sounds of cheerful conversations filling the air. Different plants and colorful planters took up every nook and cranny. There were tables for both sitting to enjoy your drink and to display more greenery. Again, the prices were appropriate, so I purchased an adorable string of turtles and a lovely, white, ceramic pot to put it in. For green thumbs and beginners alike, Maypop is a great place to increase your knowledge and collection of plants, and the selection of food and drink encompasses all palettes. The unique concept of combining coffee drinking and plant shopping works wonderfully, and the atmosphere is cozy and welcoming. I will definitely be going back there to satisfy my taste buds’ and garden’s needs."

"Papa John's may not be my top choice for pizza, but it certainly holds second place on my list. My wife is a big fan, so we find ourselves ordering from there fairly often. The garlic dipping sauce adds a delightful touch to the meal. Despite being a chain restaurant with the typical inconsistencies, this location stands out for its impressive atmosphere. Overall, I have a pleasant experience dining there."

"I wasn't very satisfied with this location. We ordered a large kids' Happy Meal for my daughter, only to be told they were out of toys and wouldn’t be selling them. I understand that these things happen, but I spoke with the manager, who assured me that if we came back the next day at a specific time, he would have toys for us and would take care of the situation. However, when we returned the following day, the manager we had talked to was not there. The new manager informed us that no toys had arrived and he had no idea when they would be in. I just wish the previous manager hadn’t promised us anything, as we ended up wasting our drive."

"2 1/2 hours for a hamburger is way too long. We had a reservation for 4 at a regular table, the first couple arrived and was sat at the High Bar table, we were moved to the outdoors, even though that's not what I requested in my reservation. The waiter finally showed up 15 minutes later , we ordered drinks and appetizers. The drinks came except for my wife's Diet Coke. The apps came but no Diet Coke. After going to the hostess desk and asking for our waiter, maybe 20 mins after the apps arrived her showed up, my wife ask for her Diet Coke. He came back in 5-10 mins with a plastic to go glass and said he had to go to Olive and Oak to get it because you had run out. He did not ask if anyone wanted another drink or refill the water glasses. He just walked away. Again we had to hunt him down via the hostess desk so we could order food. Again after the meals, overpriced sandwiches, were delivered, no sign of him, no checking if everything was alright, no ask if we wanted anything else or dessert or more drinks, nothing. Had to wave him down for our bills which took another 15 mins to create. Just poor service."

"This was our first stop during our first visit to St. Louis, and we were in the mood for Thai food. We discovered a charming little restaurant in Webster Groves, a lovely area filled with great restaurants, boutiques, and coffee shops. We ordered Laarb Koi, Nam Ngiaw, and Pork Red Curry, and everything was incredibly tasty! Our favorite dish was definitely the Nam Ngiaw, a traditional northern Thai specialty. The broth was rich in flavor and struck the perfect balance between spicy and savory. However, we felt that the service and hospitality could have been improved; it wasn’t as warm as we typically experience in the Midwest. Nonetheless, the food was fantastic, and we would definitely return for more! If you’re in the area, be sure to check them out!"
