"However, Jovita, a mother-and-daughter team, really knows what they’re doing. After hearing good things about Tamaleria Rincón Sinaloense in the area, we decided to try their tamales as well. Priced at $21 for a dozen, we bought two dozen: six each of Rajas, Spicy Cheese with chili, pork, chicken, and beef.
When we arrived at 10 a.m. (they opened at 8 a.m.), the place seemed quite empty, with only one couple dining. A young woman, who I assume was from the kitchen where the magic happens, took my order with a friendly demeanor.
We waited until we got home to taste them. The chicken, pork, and cheese tamales were fantastic, easily the best of the bunch. However, the beef tamale, while filled with shredded beef, was the least appealing, both at the beginning and the end—definitely not as good as the others.
Jovita’s is primarily a storefront focused on perfecting their version of tamales. If you're in the area and have the chance, I wouldn’t hesitate to pick up some of my favorites, as we're definitely not fans of the sweet variety. Overall, it was a delightful surprise—really tasty and well worth the visit. I would give it 4.5 stars."
