"From the outside I thought it was going to be a great experience. I went with my 5 year old grandson. Took 23 minutes for the green bean appetizer and 42 minutes for a flat bread pizza. It felt like the waitress was ignoring us. Never asked if we wanted drink refills or nothing. And back one time to ask if things were on. I had to step up to the bar to get my bill. And the food was average at best. Won’t be returning."

"My friend and I were down at Speedy 's Bar Que on the evening of Jan. 15, 2016. We were sitting in our booth getting ready to order our meal, when the couple in a booth close to ours called the waitress to their table. We overheard the lady say that something in the BBQ was horrible. Someone from the kitchen came out to the table and talked to this couple. The lady at the table told the BBQ personnel that whatever was in this BBQ had gotten into her mouth, YUCK . When our BBQ arrived it was really bad compared to what we have gotten at this restaurant. I asked for the lean BBQ and got some crappy foul tasting totally disgusting BBQ. This restaurant is certainly capable of doing better than this. We normally drive around 30 miles to go to this place, however, out of the last (5) visits we have gotten BBQ which is certainly not up to par. Someone needs to give these folks some info or they will surely lose a lot of loyal customers who have enjoyed dining there in the past. Get with it Speedy 's you can do a lot better than this."

"I've been visiting this restaurant since 1995, and the owner has always treated us well. It's a popular spot for local police and firefighters, and it's conveniently located just a short walk from Torchy's bar, making it perfect if you want to grab a bite before heading out for drinks. They offer more than just sandwiches! As for parking, it's located in a strip mall, so there's plenty available. It’s also kid-friendly, with high chairs provided, making it a great hometown establishment."

"Yesterday is a breakfast spot reminiscent of a classic waffle house. I really enjoy their Southern cooking style and the variety of options they offer; their menu seems much larger than I expected. I was extremely pleased with my meal, and the service was excellent. It's slightly tucked away, but everyone knows that's where you can find some of the best food."

"A lovely spot with delicious diner fare. The ham steak was fantastic and cooked perfectly, although the cheesy eggs didn’t quite have melted cheese, and the dry toast took longer to arrive since it was initially made with butter instead of as I requested. One of my dining companions had the scrambler with bacon and really enjoyed it. The coffee was excellent. The service was very kind, too. The walls are adorned with 50s diner memorabilia, and there's an Elvis statue in the corner. Overall, it’s definitely a great place for weekend mornings."

"BEWARE!! My husband and I travel a lot between Farmville and Clinton. We had talked about stopping here for breakfast many times. When we did stop and looked at the menu, we commented on how good the food on menu looked and actually discussed stopping regularly in the future if the food was good. A nice young lady came to our table after a few minutes and took our drink order. She told me we had come at just the right time, because the rush crowd was over. I told her we knew what we wanted, but she would not take my order. She commented that the other waitress would take my order. After a few more minutes the other waitress took our order. We watched 2 families and another person come in after us, order, and receive their food. The 1st waitress passed my empty glass on the edge of the table at least 5+ times to bring additional items to the other families right behind us and not one time asked if we needed anything. In fact, no one ever came back to us. Finally after waiting 40 mins from the time we ordered and watching 3 groups that came in after us finishing their food, I got up and approached the waitress. I was told the food was coming up. I asked for a reason and was not given a satisfactory answer. Unfortunately we will not go back due to such horrible, horrible service."

"We went on Wednesday evening about 5:30. Both ordered the special Teriyaki steak with salad and baked potato. Tea was very weak, and one glass had an imprint in lipstick of a woman's bottom lip. GROSS! More tea was brought, and wait began. After 20 minutes or so, salads arrived, but no crackers. Crackers requested. Steaks arrived on sizzling platters, both ordered medium Rare, but were well done. Steaks were certainly sirloin, and very thin at that. Not even 1/2 thick. Baked potatoes were Cold, so sent back. Half way through steaks when second potatoes arrived, straight from microwave. The potatoes were still not fully cooked. There was No bread offered. There was only one table of customers besides us. One waitress is all I ever saw. I had been looking forward to trying Gilberts/Tripp's, but was so disappointed, and won't be back."
