"I had an incredible experience at this restaurant! The lamb shank was the best I have ever tasted. I usually don't write reviews, but this place definitely deserves it. The meat was incredibly tender and just fell off the bone. It truly felt authentic and top-notch quality. In the current COVID era, it's rare to find restaurants that maintain such high standards, but this one exceeded all our expectations. We have absolutely no complaints about the food we received."

"Since November 27, 2021, this restaurant is closed on Saturdays and Sundays. The food is very good and the staff is super friendly. However, they tend to close early almost every night. The business hours on Google are incorrect and they do not adhere to the hours listed on their doorstep. "This restaurant is a must-visit! A huge thanks to our wonderful server, Leslie, who truly enhanced our experience. Nearly everything on the menu is homemade, including the spicy turkey sausage, the muffins (make sure to try the fried pineapple ones), and the sourdough. And don’t miss out on the salsa—it's absolutely amazing! You can even buy fresh jars to take home. Unfortunately, since we were on a long road trip and couldn’t keep it, Leslie generously provided us with some small take-home containers for a snack on our journey. Overall, it was a fantastic experience with delicious food, and we will definitely be back!"

"The menudo is excessively fatty and tastes stale, as if it has been sitting around since the weekend—or even longer. The chorizo is overcooked and served with a watery egg substitute, all at a steep price for these diminishing à la carte options. The only dish that stands out as truly à la carte is the fish tacos. While they look appealing now, they contain a lot of finely chopped vegetables, and their appearance doesn't quite match the taste. There are far better restaurants for burritos and soups, such as Julioberto's (for their kartato-egg burritos), Herrera's (for chorizo-egg and bean burritos), Garcia's Las Avenidas (for the best menudo and caldo), and Carolinas (for chorizo-egg-potato and bean-cheese burritos). In conclusion, Mixteca falls short of expectations. Aside from the fish tacos, the rest of the dishes are overpriced and seem to be getting stingier with portion sizes. They provide less food in their burritos, soups, and quesadillas while charging a premium, leading to a frustrating experience for customers."

"Here's the tea... There was a morning before work where I actually worked: and after work I wanted only a breakfast Burrito. I make delicious breakfast Burritos, but recently traders joe's has not been able to restock their hashbrowns #hashbrowncrisis. So I decided to try a local breakfast Burrito that I heard Everest is great and it's close to me, so I gave it a try. The place was busy ladies who enjoy breakfast together, a couple of father and son groups, various traders on the way to and from work as well as some families. The mixture of people fascated me and felt like a sign that this place offers many different flavors. I also took a lot of orders. Very promising. Then I saw something I didn't see before a pastrami breakfast Burrito. I never thought about this combination in my life, I couldn't expect it. Then I found out you can add bacon. A BACON PASTRAMI BREAKFAST BURRITO. That my Yelp community must try 5/5, I can't expect to get up in the morning and have another. By the way, breakfast Burritos is served all day. "What a fantastic family-run restaurant! My family and I visit frequently because the food is fresh, delicious, and reasonably priced. Typically, if you want a great steak, you’d go to a steakhouse, but honestly, this place serves the BEST prime rib you could ask for at a much lower price than elsewhere. The salad bar offers a wide variety of options, including whole chopped hard-boiled eggs—not just the usual crumbled egg bits. They also feature three different soups at the salad bar! Where else can you find that? They keep the salad bar clean and well-stocked. While there are a few menu items that don’t appeal to me, there are plenty that do. The staff really know their regulars, and dining here feels just like having dinner at home. I can’t recommend this restaurant highly enough. Go and enjoy!"

"I love to find a little hole in the wall. I was scrolling through Yelp and landed on some strawberry waffles. I made a plan to get over and have some breakfast. It was in my area and had a friend to meet me there. Ugh, my friend was late but that gave me an opportunity to sip some coffee and check out the vibe of the cafe. It was really relaxed and down home. I could tell by the interaction they have several regulars. They greet everyone so warmly and I really felt at home. The cafe bustled with customers the whole time I was there. The food came out quickly even during what I could notice was a busy time. I read my book and had strawberry waffles on my mind. I'm tapping my food and hunger pains started to hit me. Finally, my party made it and we ordered. My friend had GYRO AND EGGS Two eggs any style, gyro meat, cucumber sauce, pan fires and choice of bread. Served with homemade pan fries. I was going to order just the waffle and some breakfast sausage. The server suggested to get the breakfast plate which included half a waffle, 2 eggs and choice of breakfast meat. That's plenty for me. It was cost was cheaper. So much food and it was all amazing. We stayed a while happy and full as I sipped more coffee. We even got to see Gus come out and speak to the patrons. The only thing I would love them to make an adjustment is their venting system. We could literally get a lot of the smoke and frying smells from the kitchen . The air vent system probably with the leasing company should get that corrected for them. The cost to eat there is some economical. You can spend $20.00 or less and get your money's worth!!!"

"I really want to go on a rant about how amazing my experience was at Sax’s. As a Rhode Islander I’m embarrassed to say that this was my very first time at Sax’s. I’ve passed by this place and consciously known it was there for at least a decade and a half and never stopped in. Well this time I did and I don’t know what I was thinking! I ordered an extra cheese with onions and mushrooms. Man o man, is it hyperbole to say Sax’s is better than any cheesesteak I’ve ever had anywhere? Yes! The team was so homey, I felt like I was at an aunts house and hanging with my overzealous cousins who mom lets them curse. They were so much fun! Not to mention the line was out the door! On a MONDAY! Where they do that at? Run, don’t walk."

"Starting off my 71yr with a special day with my special guy. Oh my gosh!! We ate breakfast at the Corner Inn in Upper Sandusky! We are traveling through and saw this place on line. Little mom pop place. (Guy from Diners, Drive-ins and Dives type of place) it was amazing! The food was amazing! All homemade!! The amount of food was incredible! Ingo got corned beef hash, and I had two savory crêpes. I was expecting a regular size crêpe and should’ve only gotten one. Our waitress was so nice, kind, pleasant, personable, efficient, and totally informed about the menu. The preparation of food was fresh and delicious. Lol"

"This was a difficult experience for me. It was my first time eating at this restaurant, and I hope that my experience was just a one-time occurrence. The wait staff was terrible. After my food was delivered, the waiter never returned, so I had no refills or bill. I had to go up to the register to pay. Despite the poor service, my breakfast was very good and I highly recommend the hippie hash browns. However, both salt and pepper shakers were almost empty, as was the ketchup bottle, showing a lack of attention to detail with their condiments. I don't think I will be returning to Fleetwood. Overall, I think they missed an opportunity for a 5-star review."

"A great place with a winning menu. Family friendly and super tasty food with large portions. I recommend that you try the specials that include fries and drink. We had the 2 hot dogs and the Italian beef. Somehow it was too much good food. But yet we took a homemade meatball and a skirt steak sandwich to go. This is one of those rare finds that is tasty, bountiful, quick and family friendly. Also very clean and attentive staff. You can hear them all working on your orders as they are being called out. I will definitely be back whenever I am in this part of North Chicago."
