"This place seemed like a gem hidden, the small tables the decorations, great. Now presentation of the food was very nice. I think the prices are too much for the amount of food. I had the mofongo con chicharron and steak. $38 dollars. Not worth it. The mofongo had no flavor. And the yellow cheese put on top not good. My wife had another mofongo con queso not good. We had better. My son had the spaghetti con queso. It was ok . We had the croquettes it was ok as well. It say I tried this place but won't come back. Parking it's the bronx, horrible. The whole bill $145. I had better, very dissapointed."

"I called like 5 other Dominican restaurants in the area to get a simple picadera of empanadas, quipes and tuna sandwiches and couldn't find one place until I reached Cafe Dominicano. The young lady on the front was absolutely incredible, super professional and with great communication and service. Then I picked up the order and whom I believe was the chef came personally to deliver it. Needless to say me and my guests devoured the food, it was DELICIOUS! When I tell you this is probably THE BEST experience and service I've had at any Dominican restaurant. You are doing it right Cafe Dominicano! Can't wait to visit for lunch or dinner soon."

"This is the second time I've visited this restaurant while seeing my daughter at school, and it has not let us down! This time, we brought along a couple of her friends, and they also loved the food. We shared the ceviche and grilled octopus, both of which were amazing. Each of us ordered a different entrée, and everyone was absolutely delighted with their meal. The food is exceptional, but be prepared to take your time enjoying it, as the service is relaxed and you won’t feel rushed."

"If I can Rate my experience here it will be negative 1. It 's 17 degrees outside so I went in to order some coffee and an empanada. I asked for creams with sugars. The rep chuckled no creams just milk and sugar. I ordered then ate at the restaurant. When it was time to leave I asked for a bin cause I didn 't want to leave my trash on the table. The same rep said no trash in here and walked away. I asked what do I do with the trash? With her hands in the air she said I don 't know throw it outside! She repeated I said there is no trash and laughed with her colleagues. This time her tone was higher. It was a genuine question and as a paying customer this attitude was such a turn off. I took my empty coffee cup and tissues and left with it. I did say to her, you are very unprofessional and I don 't appreciate the way you are speaking to me. I will NEVER!! EVER recommend this place to anyone!! No one deserves this level of disrespect!!"

"The service was terrible. My wife and I waited over 90 minutes for our food. The waiter took our drink orders at the start but never returned to check on us. After an hour without any updates from the waitress, we learned that the kitchen was slow. The restaurant didn't seem overcrowded at all. When our food finally arrived, it was cold, and the lobster tasted like rubber and was dry. Overall, it was a very disappointing experience."

"I’ve been going to that place for almost 3 months I always notice, they take forever to bring our drinks or appetizers and entries never cared too much about it but this last time they took almost an hour to bring our appetizer two rounds of drinks mind you on Fridays they have two for one special margaritas. They charge us $15 for each margarita and the bill came to $200 for two people and appetizers and four rounds of drinks, they were rude they took forever is not worth it"

"I wish I could not leave stars. Yesterday evening for my birthday sat there and this place was a joke. I'm a server. All my 9 friends who also came were or are bartenders or servers. The service was absolutely terrible, but it was the complete peculiarity of the whole situation that turned me off. We order drinks and they say they don't have the specialties so they only have classic mojitos and margaritas. It's good that we order a couple that we didn't ask for an extra, but we don't have a big deal. My drink wasn't very good, but not biggie. We order and we will tell half of the menu they do not have for any reason. We order what we can. Some of us wanted guacamole and chips, but they said they had no guacamole. We order nachos and chicken and steak tacos and they all came with Guac.... so we ask the guy straight up you say you don't have Guac, but it's on the plates? He goes away without saying a word. The music was good until we heard Pandora ads. And when the playlist was over you, you sat in silence for 2 minutes. The food was decent, but NOT worth the terrible service and complete idiocracy. We'll ask for the bill. We ask to share 5 ways and I told him to be a server, I write what's going on. He says he can only two. We say he brings us 1. We pay and think we are in the clear to go to another place and he forgets to bring my friends credit card out? It took almost 4 hours. I wanted to cry until we got out and found a MUCH BETTER PLACE RIGHT THE CORNER. Don't wait your time or your money here. COMMUNITY"
