"From outside it appears to be a very small place but its just the entrance. It is really big place. You would rethink if you are in a restaurant and not a bar with so much emphasis on beer everywhere you see, wall , paintings napkins, glasses etc. It has a huge variety in menu and also caters to vegetarians like me. That's impressive! Just one caution, - they take orders a little too quickly - so make sure your customization is noted well. All in all a great place!"

"I regularly order from this restaurant when I'm in the mood for Vietnamese food and want to avoid cooking. The vermicelli dishes are outstanding, and I've also liked their rice dishes in the past. However, I've been disappointed with the pho during my last three orders; it tends to be bland. I found the beef stew to be lacking in flavor as well, which was disappointing since I'm a big fan of soup! Thankfully, I finally came across a soup that made up for my previous letdowns: the fermented fish soup. It’s absolutely packed with flavor and is just perfect for a cool evening!"

"I visited this restaurant for the first time and placed a to-go order. The parking lot is quite small and shared with a teriyaki restaurant. My food was ready when I arrived. I ordered two dishes: crispy chow mein with beef and vegetables, and a pork chop rice dish. Unfortunately, the chow mein was disappointing; the gravy was thin and not at all thick, and while the flavor was decent, it wasn’t anything special. As for the rice dish, the restaurant's name is featured, which led me to expect a unique version of it. The portion was generous, but the flavor was lacking — the fish sauce was bland, and the marinade on the meat was very subtle. I likely won’t return, as there are many other restaurants offering similar dishes that taste much better."

"I’m sorry to say that the wonderful lemongrass flavor that used to enrich both the meat and the soup base is now missing. This unique ingredient set the restaurant apart from other Pho spots. I remember walking through the door and being greeted by the inviting aroma of boiling lemongrass. Pho 79 in Williamsburg was, without a doubt, the best I've tried among all the places I've visited, whether in various parts of Asia, different states in the U.S., or even Paris, where there is a significant Vietnamese community. Lemongrass is essential for creating a great pho and for marinating the meat. I sincerely hope that the owner or chef sees my review and decides to bring this flavor back. I'm even willing to pay more to enjoy the delicious taste we once loved. We're planning to return next week and hope to see some improvements."

"My husband and I have been regulars at Saigon Palace for several years and have always been quite satisfied, until our recent experience with takeout Pho Gai. When I opened the packaging, I immediately noticed the minimal amount of chicken. In fact, after weighing it, I found there were only 2 ounces of very small pieces. I really love Pho, but there are plenty of competitors in Charlotte that offer much more meat. Next time, I may need to reconsider my options."

"We visited this restaurant for lunch on a Sunday and had a fantastic experience! The food was excellent! We ordered the Vietnamese crab soup, grilled beef banh mi, an avocado smoothie with boba, and Vietnamese iced coffee. Everything was delicious! The banh mi was flavorful, juicy, and incredibly satisfying. The crab soup was outstanding and came in a HUGE portion—definitely enough to share between two people. The smoothie was well-prepared, and the iced coffee was also very good. Overall, it’s a great spot!"

"Starting with the egg rolls, they are made in-house and are incredibly flavorful, packed with pork filling. They were nice and hot, crispy, and so delicious that I ended up ordering a second round. The Pho itself was lovely—hot, comforting, with a wonderful depth of flavor. The brisket was tender, and I also ordered some extra chicken, which was very tasty and came with additional broth. If you visit, I highly recommend everything I’ve mentioned, and definitely try the Vietnamese pancake. We saw one at the next table, and it looked amazing and came in a large portion. I love the ambiance, the prices, and of course, the food. I’ll be back more often; now I just have to decide between this place and my other favorite, but I truly enjoyed it here!"

"We traveled to Virginia Beach for a family gathering and looked for a place for a late lunch. We came across Pho 79 and glad we did. We got there around 2:00 and the restaurant was almost empty. As we wanted something quick and not too filling, we thought a bowl of Pho would meet our needs. We ordered, yet the Pho took at least 20 minutes to be served. I assume the Pho was already made, so we were not sure why the delay as they were not busy and seemed to have an adequate amount of staff (although we did notice a Help Wanted sign in the window when we left). The Pho was tasty and the amount of beef in my bowl was amazing. At our local Pho restaurant in North Carolina, we never get the amount of beef we got at Pho 79. We will definitely try it again when in town...looking forward to trying other items on their menu."

"Very friendly and kind customer service! The pho is out of this world! I’ve had the seafood pho and it was fresh and very tasty and the shrimp are huge! A friend of mine has had their udon and highly recommends it! The restaurant is small but has lots of seating. I have been going here for a few weeks and stop by almost weekly. The restaurant always appears clean and organized.Oh and do yourself a favor and order their egg rolls!!! They are the best I’ve ever had.And prepare to wait for a bit! There is mainly one man running this show and everything is made fresh to order. It won’t take that long. Give the guy 20 minutes. And it is very worth the wait."

"Large clean restaurant located in a small strip mall. Service was good and food was delicious. I was looking for a specific beef dish. That’s usually served with a little salad and white rice, and when I asked the waiter, he recommended a lemongrass beef dish that was only served with white rice. It was number 67 on the mebuy, it was called Sautéed beef with lemongrass, onion, and bell pepper. Bo xao sa ot . Even though that was the wrong dish it was absolutely delicious and I would order it again. I’m kind of glad I got to try something new. The pho was delicious also. I tried a desert sample and it was also great ! No complaints! I’ll be back !"

"My husband and I just had dinner in this restaurant tonight. It’s our first time visiting here. We ordered 2 pho noodles $11.99 each) and 5 egg rolls $10.5) and 1 chicken leg $4.99). They end up charged us $50.69 as total, and we also gave them extra tips. Because they were closing at the time we paid, so we didn’t look into detail of our receipt, just paid and left. When we got home we calculated what we ordered, then we realized they overcharged our meal. We called them back and they just hang up. Doing business has to be honest. We really trust them because they look friendly, but only ten bucks overcharged will make us never come back again!"
