"This was my first visit to any Famous Dave 's. I walked in on a Tuesday evening through the To Go door- which I might add is a genius idea! You can order at a counter and wait for your food, order online or over the phone and pick it up through this entrance. To the right is the hostess stand for those patrons that will be dining in. Everyone was very pleasant when I walked in. I was greeted by a young man (maybe HS/early college age). He greeted me and asked if he could take my order- when I told him I 've never been here before and was looking for recommendations- he appeared to be excited to share the menu and walk me through the most popular items. I eventually decided on the 2- meat combo (pictured) choosing the Famous Ribs Pulled Pork accompanied by 2 sides (coleslaw mashed potatoes), and all meals finish with a Corned Bread muffin. If you look at the picture you can tell I was eager to jump in prior to taking a picture. The Ribs- the best I 've had in a LONG time- they fell off the bone, were perfectly smoked and could taste in each bite. The pulled pork was cooked very well- with just enough juice, spices, and BBQ sauce. The often forgotten- sides...The coleslaw was a creamy coleslaw- which is my preference and was very good. I 'm not a huge mashed potato fan, but thought I would give them a shot- I was not let down- they were really tasty. Rounding out this incredible meal was one of the better cornbread muffins I 've had. It wasn 't dry at all- very tasty. Overall, if you are in the Waldorf area and are a fan of BBQ I would highly recommend Dave 's Bar-B-Que. I only got a glimpse of the dine-in restaurant, but from what I saw, it looked very clean, well put together, well decorated, and an overall great ambiance for any group of people."

"We had a great time here, but I wouldn’t say the food was unforgettable. It was good, but not exceptional. We were three diners and ordered the menu for two, which included ribs, chicken, brisket, and sausage. The portions were huge, and even with three of us, we couldn’t finish it all. They also customize the meal to your preferences if there are any sides or meats you’d rather not have. The value is fantastic, and our server was excellent! I have no complaints, but I’ve definitely had better BBQ elsewhere."

"I absolutely loved this meal! Tonight, we ordered two Baby 2 meat combos—one with pulled pork and short ribs, and the other with short ribs and catfish. Everything was incredibly tasty! The meat was tender, fresh, and served hot, and I was impressed by the thoughtful packaging for a home delivery. To finish off our meal, we added slices of Lemon Supreme and French silk chocolate pie. I'm usually quite chatty, but I'm at a loss for words to describe how fantastic this meal was! We've ordered from here before and will definitely do so again. Thanks to everyone involved—it was delicious!"

"This restaurant is a fantastic spot with delicious drinks and appetizers. I appreciate that they offer vegan choices, and the fried pickles are outstanding. On our previous visit, we were really pleased with our meal and overall experience (definitely try the blackened tofu tacos), but on our most recent visit, we were a bit let down. We were initially seated at a table that was very uneven, which made it uncomfortable, but thankfully we were able to switch tables. The food was not terrible, but it lacked flavor and could have used some sauce or seasoning."

"Had lunch on 11/2/2020. The food was very good. Nice bit of charcoal on my burger. The fries were very good, as usual. And the price was attractive because of the early bird special. (11am to 4pm, M to Fri) Sadly, though, the service was a little terse. You know the type... professionally friendly, not genuinely friendly. She got the job done, but nothing particularly special or memorable about it. Lastly, they were running a $3.00 Build-your-own Burger special for members. Easy to sign up it says. But my server couldn 't be bothered suggesting this to me, even though what I ordered was a double-cheeseburger. Might I have paid less? Might I have been able to add things to it like pulled pork or a hot link, to make the burger uber-special! I DON 'T KNOW!... because it was ever brought up! Sad..."

"I don’t know where to start. Me and my husband made reservations here for our 1 year anniversary. I did lots of research of the place and wanted to go somewhere special. Upon walking in we weren’t sure if we were in the right spot. There was no hostess station. Staff walked right by us numerous times as if we were invisible. We literally had to go find someone next door at the hotel desk to help us. We were showed to the host. I sd I had a reservation for outside dining. It was raining so they did have some empty seats where others were sitting under the large umbrellas. The host said no you go indoors. I was absolutely so mad but I smiled. She took us to what looked like a back room. It was HORRIBLE! It looked like it should’ve been the employee break room. It was so bad. I wanted to get up and leave but we said we’d make the best of it. It took forever for the waiter to take our order. We started off ordering drinks. He brought my husband drink but not mines. I figured the bar was still making it. We ordered nachos. He set a plate in front of us with only chicken and cheese on it. We asked the waiter doesnt this come with guacamole and sour cream etc? I said I was sure I saw other items included on the menu. He said oh yes and brought it in cups which was fine. I said soooo I ordered a drink and never received it and he literally said “oh you wanted to order it?” Uh that was the entire point of me giving you my drink order. I was so over it. Our experience was so bad from start to finish. The spared no expense for the decor outside but if you have to be seated inside just go elsewhere. It’s almost like you’re in a basement. No music. You’re just sitting there. I wish we had of went elsewhere."

"My husband and I had never been there, we do enjoy a nice BBQ. Service was really friendly. I absolutely loved the Sweet Tea. Food was yummy. Do wish they would have made the bottom of my bun more crispy, wasn't able to eat w/o it falling apart., had to use my fork and not eat the bun."

"The drive-thru service here is frustratingly slow, even when I was the only one in line and ordering just one item. They still made me pull up and wait for 15 minutes. I could understand if there was a line or if the parking lot had cars in it. The food quality seems to be inconsistent. I did enjoy the ribs, but I think the prices are too high for what you get, especially the tiny Styrofoam cups they use for sides. I couldn't believe the mashed potatoes and beans were only worth two bites each, although they did taste good. The curly fries they served me looked cold and sad, but I didn’t feel it was worth my time to complain. The corn on the cob and mac and cheese I ordered as extras were shockingly bad; I can't believe they even served them to me. I was disappointed because those items are usually hard to mess up, which suggests that the kitchen staff doesn't really care. As for the cod sandwich special offered on Fridays, forget it—McDonald's Filet-O-Fish tastes much better and is less expensive. On a positive note, the buffalo chicken wrap and coleslaw were great. Overall, this place feels like a gamble. I'm willing to give it a few more chances because the ribs were decent, but if I have another negative experience, I’ll say it's just not worth it for me. The Alsip location has the potential to be very popular if they could address these issues. Right now, it feels like I'm being shortchanged when I eat here. The prices could be acceptable if the food and service matched the cost."

"I haven't been to Famous Dave's in a number of years. Haven't been to this Famous Dave's and 10-15 years. They used to have good quality food and service. The hostesses were nice. The food was absolutely horrible. I will not recommend this particular famous Dave's. Definitely not worth the money and the quality was terrible. I would like to say this is a rare occurrence, but the people walking behind us had nothing good to say about the food and the server was quite rushing and not friendly. There were only about 4 or 5 tables. So it was not because there were too many guests."

"The resturant of the famous Sticky Fingers sauces! Excited to try this place, we ordered 1/2 slab ribs (dry rub), baked potato and 20 wings. Ribs weren't bad, but were a bit dry and I had to use their famous sauce (which was good). The wings were also a bit dry and lacked flavor. Baked potato came with butter and sour cream, bacon bits. Maybe it was the time of day (around 5pm) when we came and they had some old food from lunch? Either way, I expected a little better for $60+"

You malakas are lucky Jollibee or Charle's isn't in this hood or you'd be RIP. Oh, well. At least the fries and slaw are still great. And, it's open until midnight. "You know you are in a good, authentic place when the food literally transports you to your grandmother's house when you were a child. The black bean soup had this fantastic combination of ingredients that I have not found anywhere but in my grandma's kitchen. That soup, by itself, was worth the trip. The sword fish appetizer was very good and the pisco sour was fantastic (I know, pisco sour is not Mexican, but in any case, it was very refreshing and perfectly mixed). Price wise, well you are in NYC ... 'nough said."

"When the waitress came to our table, the first thing she did was crack her knuckles... Total turnoff. Sadly disappointed when I learned that The Manhandler is no longer on the menu, I ordered the chunk pork. The flavor was fine, however, 1/4 of the serving was a large chunk of nonedible skin. The healthy side order of steamed broccoli was dried out. Remembering the warm, cinnamon/sugar apple sauce including slices of apple, I order this as the second side order and was greatly disappointed when served with a cup of prepackaged Mott 's brand, no sugar added applesauce. This was the Worst meal I have ever seen served in a restaurant and was embarrassed of the decision to bring friends family there."

"I want to share our experience with Famous Dave's in Cedar Falls, IA. In the afternoon of Friday, March 3, 2017 Ashley Pump House called to confirm our reservation for our gender revelation party later in the evening. They informed us that they screwed up our reservation and that there is nothing they could do. We spent 40 minutes French calling all places where we could think in the Waterloo/Cedar Falls area to find a restaurant that could accommodate 50 people on a Friday night. Ashley finally made a call to Famous Dave's and we talked to Melissa, the manager. She asked some questions and finally said it could be a tight fit, but they were more than willing to help us. When they arrived, they told us that they only assigned a few waiters to our party. The waitresses were incredibly patient, nice and so on, all had everything they needed. When the waiters came here and started picking up all the checks, I realized I never got mine. I let the waitress know that I never got my bill, and she told me it was supervised by the manager. The manager paid for my and Ashley's dinner and my three alcoholic drinks. I wanted to let Melissa come to say thank you and we embraced her. She congratulated us and said something else. Melissa then called on Saturday and left a voice mail that thanked us and said she was glad that they could take our party. I have never had such amazing customer service and we are so grateful for everything Melissa and the waiters have done for us. And the food is soooo delicious! It was one of the best nights of our life."

"This was our first visit to this restaurant since we just relocated to the area. We had heard good things about it and found the prices reasonable. However, we were disappointed to discover that the prices listed on their online menu did not match those at the restaurant. The actual prices were more than double what was advertised online. The food itself was just mediocre—nothing special. Given the high prices, I would have preferred to try a different place. "I absolutely love this place! I am originally from the south so my mom and I would go looking around to find food that would remind us of home and this was easily one of our favorites. It was the last place I got to go with her before she passed away and now it’s my tradition to visit here every Mother’s Day and I’m always so well taken care of. I have to be honest and say I always get the fried catfish but there’s a reason why… it’s incredible. Perfectly fried with just the right amount of batter and not greasy, just wonderfully crispy. The fried okra is the best side to pair with it. The hush puppies, while smaller than I’m used to provides a nice crunch and packed with spices. I have to be careful with cornbread that comes before the meal because I would simply just order that and get full! On this occasion specifically I asked to surprise me with a sauce to dip and they knocked it out of the park with this tangy comeback style sauce. And just look at that refill they gave me of my soda, I don’t know how he even carried that back haha Overall, I love this place and there’s simply nowhere else that I’d rather go on my yearly visit. Even sneak in a couple times a year extra just because it is that good."
