"I am so disappointed with this restaurant. I come here all the time and now have decided to not be a customer anymore for a couple reasons.1. They don’t take gluten allergies seriously. For example, take a look at the photo I attached. I told them I was gluten free and they handed me a soy sauce labeled “G.F.” you can clearly see in the ingredients it contains wheat. Wheat contains gluten. Additionally, on a separate occasion, my mom had a similar experience. She has a severe gluten AND soy allergy and she communicated that with the server. The server then brought out the so called “gluten free” soy sauce, and my mom had to tell them to take it away because she’s allergic to soy. The server then said, “it’s gluten free!” and my mom then repeated herself that she’s allergic to soy. The server then said it was gluten free again, and after a long confusing conversation, my mom had to explain to the server the difference between soy and gluten and that they’re two separate things. As a restaurant, you need to be aware of what common allergens are. It’s not just a silly little diet or a fake allergy. If my mom consumes gluten, she has to be hospitalized. She went into anaphylactic shock after accidentally consuming gluten before. It’s serious. There’s no excuses for being uneducated on allergens when you’re serving people food, especially gluten. It’s a very common allergen and there’s so many gluten free alternatives nowadays.2. The quality in food has gone down significantly. The last meal I got, which surely contained gluten, was completely cold when it came out. After I finished eating, I then noticed a bug walking around in my food. Later that night, I got sick, of course. It was horrible.I wouldn’t recommend to come here if you have food allergies. It doesn’t seem they’re educated on allergens and don’t take it seriously."

"portions were good, but the teriyaki was very bland, as was the tempura roll. the chicken was stringy and looked like clumps of thigh meat. even the extra teriyaki sauce that came with the meals was bland. The dumplings were good and seemed to be a 50/50 mix of pork and vegetables. The tempura roll, aside from being bland, was a large log of rice with a very small bit of everything else in the middle."

"Hibachi Express Japanese Grill was a surprise of a find in the Brandywine area this locally owned eatery offers hibachi, hibachi combos, bento boxes, and maki rolls.We came here for a quick dinner, and we ordered:+the Hibachi Chicken, Beef Shrimp combo comes with rice, noodles at an extra charge, and a side of steamed veggies are optional; while the portions are quite plentiful and generous, I think the best protein of choice would be chicken; beef was a little tough, and the shrimp could have been larger and more fresh; the veggies were very liquid y and could have been drained more, as it was super wet and made a puddle at the bottom of the box+the Happy Roll this was filled with imitation crab+a Shrimp Tempura RollThe hibachi came with one cup of yum yum sauce, but any additional servings are at an extra charge.The rolls were surprisingly pretty okay, and there is a condiment station with soy sauce and sriracha.The staff here are super welcoming, friendly, and kind; all items are made to order, so it'll take a few minutes. "I ordered the Chicken Teriyaki and it was cooked to perfection. The chicken was tender and crispy. The serving of rice was generous. The teriyaki sauce was delicious and full of flavor. It didn't have that artificial sweetness that other teriyaki sauces often have. This was, without a doubt, the best teriyaki chicken I've ever had."

"I had the pan-fried buns and dumplings in spicy sauce, paired with a mango smoothie, all for around $20. The prices here are very reasonable, and out of everything I tried, the dumplings in spicy sauce were definitely the standout. The pan-fried buns were tasty as well, but they were thinner and had less filling than I'm used to. I was a bit disappointed that, even though I ordered three types of dumplings, the woman at the front only gave me one small soy sauce for my entire meal. Overall, though, given the price, the food was quite good."

"I found this restaurant during the COVID shutdown here in DC in 2020. I was leaving a grocery store when I saw it in the same shopping center. I've since started placing a to-go orders before I do my shopping on Saturday, and they have it ready when I'm done. We mainly eat sashimi, nigiri, and rolls and we have not yet been disappointed. I was a little worried the first time because prices were a little less than what I expected (weird right? , but the quality is equal to a much higher-priced sushi place."

"Spicey chicken with rice and salad.Chicken was tough and old. The rice was small and dry. No extra teriyaki sauce or fork. This was delivery.The salad was very good .Hot and sour soup I couldn't finish. Bamboo shoots were too big as well as onions. Tofu was small and falling apart. Broth had almost a sweet taste to it and was almost clear. Why was there shrimp in it? What a strange taste. I do not recommend soup. It's nothing like the classic hot and sour."

"I order from this place multiple times a month and sometimes even several times a week. However, I've noticed a decline in the portion sizes recently. They used to provide generous servings, but now they seem to skimp on what you actually get for your money. I recently paid extra for shrimp and mushrooms, but instead received a smaller portion than the standard size. They didn't offer a refund or any compensation, but they were quick to take the extra $5 without delivering the additional items I requested. There were only about five tiny pieces of shrimp in my order. It's really disappointing to see their quality decline. They used to be generous and fair, but now it feels like they’re just taking our money."

"The only reason I’m giving this restaurant a 4 out of 5 is because the Oreo cake could definitely be a bit bigger for the price. However, the food has never disappointed me; it’s always just right—not too salty or too sweet. I usually go for the Hibachi or Teriyaki chicken options, which I love. I was actually surprised when I accidentally ordered the Chicken Bento with white meat, and it turned out to be a great choice. It offers excellent value for money, allowing you to enjoy a good mix of the menu in one meal. The sauce only enhances the experience. I would definitely recommend it!"

"I've visited this restaurant several times recently, and I'm always impressed by how delicious everything is! I took the photos in a hurry because I couldn't wait to dig in. The honeydew melon smoothie is the best drink I've ever had—if someone else claimed something else was the best, I apologize, but this takes the top spot! I also tried the kiwi smoothie, which was perfectly balanced between sweet and sour. The noodles are cooked just right, and the food overall is fantastic. The dumplings were delightful, and we also tried the tempura shrimp burrito, which was amazing. I appreciate the quiet atmosphere and cleanliness of the dining area as well."

I 'll tell you why While I was waiting for my chicken teriyaki plate, another man came up and grabbed one of them and I was pretty sure he grabbed the order I would have gotten if wewent in order. Oh well. But then when I got my plate after waiting a bit longer, which is fine, I noticed the portion size wassmaller. When I went back and asked for a LITTLE bit more chicken, all of the workers there said no, with some attitude, andtold me I would need to pay the extra $1.99 for extra meat. How is it extra meat when you guys didn 't even give enough tobegin with? The employees here looked like they hated their job and let me ask, if you go to a place where the staffbegrudgingly help their customers ask yourself what the quality of the food might actually be like? They probably don 't care. Iasked if there was someone I could speak with and apparently there isn 't a manager on-site because they said they didn 't haveanyone. So I ended up leaving and am hungry still now as I write this. If you think about it, this place is basically justsugar syrup coated chicken with grease, plus rice and vegetables. There are MUCH healthier options available here at the foodcourt. I will never be coming to another Sarku ever again and will make sure others know not to come to this location becauseyou clearly don 't care at all about your coworkers and would rather charge them an extra couple dollars for something thatwasn 't even their fault! Tell me is it really worth the $2 to tarnish your reputation as a consistent mall food court diningoption?"
