"Humphry Slocombe is a cool name. The name actually comes from a 1970 's British sitcom called "Are You Being Served? "I last went here years ago and had not returned since because last time was here they didn 't have any vegan ice cream and only had one sorbet that was vegan that was fine yet not great.Fast forward years later to the moment of now. I recently stoped by again and they had two vegan ice cream flavors including vegan cookies and cream and vegan strawberry daiquiri. I am a big fan of cookies and cream and am a teetotaler so the vegan strawberry daiquiri unfortunately has alcohol. My beloved and I stopped by recently. We each got a vegan cookies and cream ice cream cone. It really hit the spot. The base was coconut milk and classic Oreo cookies which are accidentally vegan were in there rounding it out to make it a delicious ice cream. The sugar cone is vegan and unfortunately the waffle cones are not vegan so we went with the former.I suggest Humphry Slocombe keep the vegan cookies and cream on rotation adding another two or three vegan flavors for good merit. The whole thing of a vegan going to a vegan or vegetarian restaurant having too much choice so making it hard to decide what to order. Well at Humphry Slocombe Ice Cream it is opposite for vegans as you only have two choices of two different vegan ice creams and for vegan teetotalers who got the straight edge you have one flavor. The vegan ice cream we had is great will set you back $5 for a generous cone or cup. Great location right near 24th St Mission BART station."

"Grub attempts to be different for all the wrong reasons and why the chain is now reduced to this final few locations. It is a failure as a chain. Update after 7th and Final visit Food made me sick last visit. Do not accept cash forced to use a credit card forced to tip or not tip before you get your food forced to use a public touch screen and put your hands on it before you eat so you are forced to go wash your hands before eating. I hate ordering at this restaurant like really really hate it. Until this last visit I always tipped when I paid but realized this system makes no sense to me had to think about why I hate it. It is a bad system for many reasons that costs the staff money. I will not return to this restaurant but if I did I would tip in cash after the service. My view of tipping is my relationship with the person who waited on me, this system ruins that as I don't know where the money is going. The cashier that pressed a few buttons? What if they screw up your food on purpose because you didn't tip enough? You are forced to do something you don't want to do before you want to do it. I love tipping big for great service to inform the person that did the work they did a great job! Burgers were all prepared exactly as I wanted. The cheese fires are great but it is a two person appetizer so I can't order it anymore it. For reference it ends up being a 22 dollar lunch before tip. Kitchen is hidden in the back. Easy parking open free parking lot almost nobody in the restaurant 50% of the time I am alone or one other person is eating. I time my visit to avoid the crowd always works. Out of 7 visits I had only had one person in front of me in line. Good bye Grub!"
