"My husband and I were there on March 14th 2024 for dinner (approx 5:45pm), I have been here numerous times, but for some reason something was definitely off with this visit. They had the normal business, but the waitress service was very slow, and even during our dinner, we took notice that as people were leaving, the waitresses were not even clearing the tables on a timely manner. One table in particular across from us, the family (3 people) had finished their dinner and stacked their plates at the end of the table and were sitting there waiting for their dessert (free ice cream) and even after the waitress brought the ice cream to the table, she never cleared the dirty dishes off of the table. Finally, after sitting about 10 minutes, our waitress (Jessica) came over to take our order and I had ordered the batter, dipped haddock dinner, and my husband ordered two piece broasted chicken dinner. Finally, after sitting there for approximately 25 minutes (refilling our drinks two times in this timeframe), the waitress finally brought our food over. At no time when we placed our order did the waitress, tell us that there would be a 20 to 25 minute wait for the chicken to be cooked (this has never happened in the past).I have to say that we were not pleased with the chicken after waiting that amount of time, the pieces (leg and thigh) were very small and dried out.We took notice during our time at the restaurant, that Jessica and the other waitress on duty, seem to do quite a bit of standing around back in their area just socializing with each other instead of taking the time and clearing the dirty tables. Also note… Before I left, I rechecked their dinner menu just to confirm about a waiting time If you ordered the broasted chicken… And there was nothing printed on the menu.I have to admit that we will definitely not beccoming back to 30 West anytime soon!!"

"First time visiting the Fisherman's Galley and it was quite the treat for my wife and I. They opened at 3 p.m. and we arrived shortly after 3 to almost a full parking lot. Upon entering we were met by the cashiers at the takeout counter who didn't say a word. As we went through the doors we passed another cashier who didn't speak as well. So immediately I'm wondering if we came to the right place seeing the people weren't as friendly. We were seated at a booth and everything was clean and the lighting was perfect. We were greeted by a very friendly and charismatic waitress by the name of Ruth. She was so kind and friendly. We started with the cheese sticks which was very delicious and for our entree my wife ordered the flounder platter with fried oysters and baked potato and I had the catfish platter with scallops and popcorn shrimp. It was so much food. We knew right away that we would not be able to eat it all. Ruth continued to check on our table as we ate and enjoyed one another's company. The food was nice and hot and too much for my stomach to hold. It's well worth the money. You get what you pay for and a whole lot more. If you're looking for some seafood and great service be sure to check out the fisherman's galley. Tell them you want to sit where Ruth is the server. I would have given it five Stars had we been greeted with smiles. Still I would highly recommend this place for a family outing for you and that special someone."

"I'll start with the server, Tiffany... She was very polite and patient. She accommodated me. I tipped her 25% of a very high bill. But I told her, I would only return just to say hello to her. And I left with that.If not, for the elderly customers sitting around the bar enjoying themselves, I would say this place needs to be shut down. I specifically asked for catfish, and NOT Swai fish. When she brought the food out, it was NOT catfish. The sweet potatoes tasted and looked like none I've ever seen before, almost like pictures you to see on canned vegetables. The greens were tasty. She took the fish back And asked if I wanted a different proteins and I said bring either the snapper or the fried chicken. She returned with 1 warm thigh and some pieces of chicken I've never seen before. I later found out it was chopped chicken... Whatever that is. I messed over the meal and when the bill came, I was charged 20 several dollars for a catfish platter when I received chopped chicken. I was charged $12 and some change for two cokes. With tax the bill came to $43. I am very disappointed in this long established black owned and ran business. However, I'm glad that they can keep the doors open for those who drink liquor, and seem to be enjoying themselves -as they appear to be regulars. But they will never get my business again. Oh... And the Decour is terrible. I'll just leave it at that. I wish them the best."
