"I have always loved Cajun broiler but the last 2 times it's just not the same. Left today for the last time. Won't be back. Food was sub par but so expensive. 2 appetizers 2 meals was $75 including a tip. Service was sub par as well. Tipped only because i know they make very little per hour. Salad never brought, hush puppies had an odd taste, French fries with meal were few. Probably the thing that turned me off the most was we were sat near the window inside and there were dead flies in the window seal. Not sanitary at all. I wish I had taken pics but I didn't. It's not what it used to be. It's old, dark was warm inside. I am sure air conditioning struggled to keep up. Unfortunately I won't be back. It's where I've always brought out of town guests, but I'll find somewhere else now."

"I'm going for lunch for a solid oyster boboy, great Hush puppies and a cold drink. It is usually very fast to get food and a fun atmosphere. A little secret I want to do is to take the table horse and mix it with the tartaric acid sauce for a spicy French fry sandwich dip."

"More than just a dinner. My wife and I are from San Antonio, Tx, but we’re born and raised here in Natchitoches. We popped in late last night for the Ahi and steak. The food and service were both excellent! We were not surprised at all by the level of quality, when we found out that the new owners were actually our wedding planners back in 2002. They hosted our rehearsal dinner at the Mason Louisiane, we exchanged vows under a 200 year old oak tree on the riverbank and actually had our wedding reception at the Mariners! It was also ironic that I actually worked at the Mariners during the 80’s while attending NSU. So many amazing memories, I think we have a new tradition now. I would be remiss if I didn’t mention the excellent bar service as well. Will definitely be back. Congratulations!"

"Definitely a place anybody should visit at least once, and then maybe more if you love it. We were so confused when the GPS brought us to some place that looks like a hole in the wall built from an old gas station. My daughter did not want to go in, but we're glad we did. Absolutely unique and adorable decor, lots of ambiance, lots of things to look at. They have a great menu and if we come back, would love to try some different things. We ordered the catfish and shrimp platter with a side of calamari. The shrimp were great, the catfish was pretty good but definitely needs more spices in the batter. Batter. The calamari was a little disappointing. Disappointing. Extremely overcooked and hard and dry, but I feel like that's pretty common in Houston so you might be okay with it if that's what you're used to. Next time, I definitely want to try the chowders or gumbo and some other dishes. Kids will love it and adults will too."

"My wife ordered the grilled shrimp with fries, while I chose the catfish with red beans and rice. I did find it unexpected that the taco came with a hard corn shell instead of a flour tortilla. The initial presentation seemed a bit basic, but the flavors and textures were spot on. The crispy shell added a wonderful crunch to the taco, and both the shrimp and catfish were cooked to perfection. I particularly enjoyed the coleslaw and pico de gallo that accompanied our meals, though my wife felt that the slaw was on the sweeter side. Overall, it was a great experience. From the friendly service at checkout to the comfortable atmosphere and cool terrace, everything was enjoyable. We are already looking forward to our next visit!"

"Perhaps they were good in the past, but today's experience was disappointing. The shrimp in the gumbo was tough, the gravy was too thick, the fries were as hard as if they had been reheated, and the hush puppies were too tough to bite into. I had heard great things about this place for a quick lunch with my mother, but we will not be returning."

"Fabulous, amazing and delicious, we had the red snapper veracrus, grilled salmon and fried shrimps with fries. The serving size is more than enough, the service was fast and fear prices. "Was craving some seafood so I decided to try something new. Went here with my mom and ordered the the gator nuggets and calamari for my meal. The gator nuggets were good, but the calamari wasn’t the best. I almost choked because the calamari was so stringy and hard to chew. They brought my mom her food but I had to get up and get my own when it was ready, so I did half the work plus the price I paid. The atmosphere was nice, they have a lot of different pictures of people displaying fish they’ve caught. It was a ok experience but I don’t think I’ll return."

"We have eaten here so many times over the years while visiting we've lost count. We've been travelling around the states and, anytime we're anywhere near this place, we swing by to get some of their Cajun food. Don't get put off by the exterior or interior....you're in Cajun country now. The Gumbo is delicious, the fried chicken is great, the Po-Boys are the way they're supposed to be make and the Boudin Balls are the absolute best! The order usually takes about 15-30 minutes to fill so we call in early and go pick up, although dining in this rustic place is a treat. Nice ownership...had the place for years. Great staff and cooks. Highly recommend all their food."

"I would give everything a 5, but I’m giving the restaurant a 2. Serious point, 20% gratuity automatically added to every check. Why? I did t even realize until I got home had a chance to think about it and why it told me my bill was 15% less than what it was after “taxes.” I of course didn’t see the print at bottom of menu, so I also tipped the server another 25%, but let’s say I hadn’t.., did that 20% also go to her? Why is there an automatic tip now? When did that start? Which leads me to my final question has it affected business? I ask because sure tipping almost 50% without realizing it is enough to make me not want to go back… Change my mind. ??‍"

"I have to say that this place offers some fantastic fast food seafood. I visited for lunch and we ordered the fried "naked" tilapia and breaded catfish jambalaya. They also have a pretty good burger if you want to give that a try. Besides tilapia and catfish, they serve salmon and other types of fish too. We didn't get around to ordering the oysters, but we definitely plan to try them next time. It may look like a hole-in-the-wall, but the food is excellent, and they have multiple locations. This is definitely a go-to spot for fast food seafood."

"There is something to be said about a well executed and curated salad. If a restaurant can take the time and effort to create something as simple yet complex as a ceasar salad; I'm here for it. "This place earns a perfect 10 out of 10 for authenticity. As soon as we walked through the front door, it truly felt like we were in El Salvador. The clientele was predominantly Salvadoran, and the lively Central American karaoke music added to the immersive atmosphere, making it easy to forget that we were just outside of Washington, D.C. However, aside from its authenticity, I can’t say much else in praise of this restaurant. The food was average at best. If you’re looking for better Salvadoran cuisine, you might find it further south in Wheaton."
