"I was really REALLY looking forward to this buffet. The last time I had Indian buffet was in 2019 nearby Philadelphia and I thought it was tasteless. The last good Indian buffet I had was at the golden peacock at the venetian hotel in Macau and taj mahal hotel buffet in new Delhi. Paid $25 including tip.Maybe this is a one off but after the meal, I had diarrhea immediately afterwards. I immediately thought it might be the water but had to remind myself I am in NYC.The food was a disappointment. Everything that I tried, but the tandoori chicken, lacked Indian flavor. For instance, I felt like I was eating pink sauce rather than a masala tomato cream sauce. Chicken was moist and tender though. The palek paneer tasted one dimensional, the paneer was good. The dal tadek felt slightly authentic (like a free non veg meal at a Indian temple) but I don't come to Indian buffet to just enjoy lentils.... The goat curry was ok. I didn't try the egg fried rice even though it looked really good. The naan was thin crispy and good. Didn't try the vegetable samosa. The Gulab Jamun was ok, could've been more tender, lacked the rosewater and butter flavor that I'm accustomed to.Service was really good. Very accommodating.Atmosphere I rated lower because it was warm and humid inside the restaurant. I was sweating constantly. Probably won't go back to eating Indian buffet for a very long time unless I'm traveling to India or Macau."

"However, when we arrived, my husband was first told by the front desk staff that there was no order under my name. Then, they said it would be ready in two minutes, despite our prior confirmation that it was ready before we left home. After waiting ten minutes, he finally received our food. The biggest disappointment came when we opened the entree containers. It was a chaotic mix of rice, beans, meat, maduros, sauce, and what looked like pico de gallo all jumbled together—it was a total mess (see attached pictures). I hadn’t even wanted a sauce, but the online ordering system required me to select one. I've never encountered a restaurant that combines a side sauce with the food instead of serving it separately. Our kids refused to eat any of it, which is understandable. I was genuinely shocked by how they served the food. I've ordered takeout from Papis many times, and their entrees usually come in divided containers to keep everything separate. Beans are always served in a separate container with their natural juices. This experience was unlike anything I've seen before, and the presentation was definitely unappealing. If you decide to order from the new KSM location, be aware of this issue. I hope this is just a temporary situation and that they will resolve these problems, as the food itself is usually quite good. I will continue to support Papis when I can visit the Ponce/Myrtle location in person, but the KSM location has some serious shortcomings."
