"It was very busy, but the restaurant has a lot of seats, so I didn't have to wait long. The food seems to be made fresh. I ordered the Oaxaca Bowl and it was amazing. Good food, rice and beans were tasteful. The vegetables should not be overcooked. The free chips were warm and the salsa was lightly spicy. Be careful because it is easy to fill them. My waiter checked me regularly and the place was pretty clean. Compared to recent experience in similar restaurants, I am very impressed. A huge television hangs over the seats that show FIFA World Cup. The decor is beautiful and you have comfortable high-back stands. I will definitely be back!"

Every time my order was made on request, it was very well packed and kept warm in containers that kept the food even after the 20-minute delivery time. "Not only is the service good, but so is the staff. My husband lost his debit card. We looked everywhere, his job, our car, etc. He told me to call the restaurant to see if anyone had turned in a card sure enough 1 of the managers had found it by thefront door. Both hubby and I were relieved ???? There are still good, honest people out there. The food is really good. If youlike a bit of heat, you will love the red salsa ???? The green salsa has a nice sweetness to it. We ordered some queso which wasgreat. I told hubby to get his fingers out of my picture but he didn't listen ??????? I had the enchilada plate with rice andbeans, he had the tamale ???? plate. Needless to say there wasn't any room left for dessert (which they have) as the food filledus up. ???? There is a bar ???? here as well if you are interested. Thank you Abuelo's for a great afternoon ????"

"Kels informed us that we were one of her first tables as she was still in training, although we wouldn't have guessed it. We received great service and enjoyed delicious food upstairs. After sharing a pitcher amongst the three of us, we decided to move downstairs to catch up, as it had been 15 years since our last gathering. Two of us ordered another pitcher while the third got an individual margarita. The bartender seemed to check our level of alcohol consumption before filling our order, but denied it when asked. Despite appreciating the establishment's concern for patron safety, it was a bit unsettling. One of us was even cut off after ordering a second individual margarita, as they adhered strictly to a three-margarita limit. Overall, the experience was acceptable and I might consider returning if I visit again, but be aware of their strict drink policy."

"On my first visit to this restaurant, I decided to try a variety of dishes by ordering The Grande. Overall, I had a great experience. The Chile Relleno was absolutely amazing and I am looking forward to having it again. However, I found the crispy taco to be a bit basic and lacking inspiration for a restaurant of this caliber. The drink options were excellent, particularly the margaritas which I would rate 5/5 stars. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable. I definitely plan on returning soon."

"came here 15 minutes ago. my wife and I waited for about 5 minutes until someone noticed we came in. took place shortly after the chips brought away immediately, sat there for 10 more minutes until another waiter asked if we even ordered drinks to finally order. 35 minutes waiting for our food. my meal I came with tortillas and I got a sauce on the side that came 1p min after I got my actual food. it's our first time. we wanted to talk to someone who was the manager. he gave my wife and I the answer they were doing and didn't do anything to stay with us. we went out without payment."

"My family and I went to this restaurant to celebrate a few birthdays, and they went above and beyond to make our experience memorable. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. Even though we live 40 minutes away, we will definitely be making the drive again because it is possibly some of the best Mexican food I have ever had!"

"I made the reservation, almost a week in advance and arrived on time. We had guests from Europe with us, and they were alarmed that we waited almost 45 minutes to be seated. In my reservation, I had requested a table along the window with a view of the ocean. What we got was a table in the corner with a view of the fence. And that was after a 45 minute wait. The server seemed very inexperienced, though she was very nice. She took our order and still we did not. have the tortillas and salsa that is normally brought to the table even before we ordered. She brought those things after we asked, and then said I'll bring you plates, but she never did. Until we had to ask again as the tortillas were cooling. Our guest ordered a beer and she brought it to the wrong table and they refused it and she took it away. We had to ask again for the beer. The most disappointing thing was not only where we were seated, but the fact that we were not able to even eat our complementary tortillas and salsa until an hour after our reservation time. The food we ordered was good, but in general the experience was a negative one."

"3.5 stars. It's a bit over priced because it's average. We found this place while searching for dinner places. It's located in a plaza, next to a bar with pool tables. The plaza offers free parking. 5 stars for the employee who was patient and attentive. He answered our questions and when he didn't have the answers, he went to ask the cook and accommodated us. The enchiladas were average. I ordered green and they weren't spicy which I loved. My partner ordered the enchiladas with shredded beef and red sauce. They had more spice than mine but still great for those who like red salsa. My sister ordered the Flautas. She said they were decent. The platter itself looked appetizing. Overall, it's a great place if you are staying nearby and want Mexican food. Is it authentic? That's for you to try and decide since we all have different tastes. My sister who cooks Mexican food said it's decent Mexican food. I don't cook, so I enjoyed it. LOL Also, they have a bathroom, one stall. They have high chairs for kids and a kids menu. Our baby didn't like her taco and preferred the Flautas. The taco was basic."

"We were there on cinco de Mayo so the restaurant was filled with guests and bustling with activity including a Mexican DJ which gave our visit an added noise level that made conversation a challenge. My steak fajitas seemed a bit bland and not flavored with the typical spices most restaurants use but others in our group seemed to enjoy their food. Oh almost forgot...chips salsa are made at the restaurant and are delicious!!! Really top notch!! The service was a bit slow probably because of the number of guests but our server also lacked the friendliness we usually encounter. Not sure if she was nervous or what but she literally didn’t smile once during our 2 hr dinner. The owner and his wife (on the other hand) were very friendly and engaging and working hard to make the restaurant a success!! For this reason we would happily return."

"We visited El Charolais around 5:00 PM and were seated almost immediately. There were a couple of hosts, which made the wait seamless and kept things moving smoothly so you could quickly enjoy their delicious food. I ordered the steak strips with rice topped in a cheese sauce, and honestly, if you don’t try this dish, you’re definitely missing out on something special—any meat lover would absolutely enjoy it. "Great place for Tex-Mex fixings! We got the carne asada and shrimps. My friend got the combinations plates with tacos, quesadillas, tamale and chile relleno. Plates were generous and vast. "From the food to the service, everything was excellent! The staff was friendly, fast and made you feel so welcomed! Steak fajitas for two, full of flavor, cooked perfectly and was enough food for 2 adults, a toddler and some to take home. Plus the margs are fantastic. "What a fantastic find! My wife and I were passing through town, and since we both have several food allergies, it can be quite challenging to find a restaurant where we can safely eat. However, Proximo not only accommodated our dietary restrictions but did so exceptionally well! Usually, servers are familiar with their menu but may not know the specific ingredients that could trigger allergies. That was not the case here! Our server was knowledgeable about the types of oils used and which dishes contained soy, sugar, gluten, and more. The staff was very well trained, and the talented chef in this scratch kitchen knew exactly how to prepare our meals safely. We enjoyed it so much that we returned for both lunch and dinner on the same day. The biscuits and gravy made for a delightful lunch, while the pork chop dinner was outstanding! And the Brussels sprouts were absolutely delicious!"
