"The crispy rice sushi with tuna was the best I've ever had. The tuna was super fresh, accompanied by avocado and jalapeños, all served on wonderfully crunchy crispy rice. The oysters were also fresh and delightful.
For my main course, I ordered the salmon dish served over black lentils with a beautiful mustard sauce. I like my salmon cooked medium well, and it was cooked to perfection! The skin was so crispy it resembled a chip, while the fish itself was moist and beautifully seasoned—truly the best salmon dish I’ve ever tasted. The lentil salad was fresh and light, making a perfect companion to the salmon, and the mustard sauce tied the whole dish together beautifully. It was simply stunning.
My husband chose the ribeye. While he praised the flavor, he noted that it was one of the fattiest ribeyes he had ever encountered, which was disappointing given the price and that it was boneless. The steak was also cooked on the rare side; however, due to the restaurant being quite busy, he didn’t send it back. That speaks volumes about how well-seasoned the steak was.
Overall, our meal and experience at Old Stove were easily a 9/10. We sat outside under a garden tent and enjoyed a few celebrity sightings, which thrilled me much more than my husband! Our waitress was incredibly sweet, provided helpful recommendations, and was attentive without being intrusive, although drink service was a bit slow. Given how busy they were that night, I don’t hold that against them."
