"Decided to switch up our sushi routines and tried Hokkaido Sushi Teppan. They have great happy hour appetizer and sushi specials including one of my favorites, takoyaki, which was cooked to perfection with a creamy inside, super tender octopusbites inside, and a generous portion of bonito flakes on top (only thing it was missing was the Mayo on top). I tried thehibachi (they have the tables for the show but they serve it sans-show on the regular table side) and the steak was cookedperfectly medium rare, the scallops still tender, and about $5 cheaper than Kobe (though Kobe’s soup, ginger dressing, noodsand white sauce are still king). The sushi was also excellent with generous amounts of quality tuna in the tuna roll, greatconsistency and flavor on the rice, crisp tempura shrimp, and well constructed rolls. Excellent service, clean dining area andbathrooms. Only thing is it’s a bit small, I think 4-5 hibachi tables for 8 and the regular seating was about 10 tables, probably could seat 30? But they were doing a big takeout business too so you can get it to go as well."
